I felt I had to write to dispell some of the very negative comments on here!
I wonder....Were we all visiting the same place??
We passed by on our way from Devon and couln't have been made more welcome! Although it was a Sunday afternoon and the pub was quite busy with diners, we did not feel pressured to eat as we just stopped for a drink and a coffee.
Our 'special' needs were met and we were very happy.
Due to the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen and the sight of the generous helpings coming from there, I did actually have a Sunday Roast!
A wonderful large portion of the most succulent and tender beef you could ever imagine, and the biggest Yorkshire Pudding I have ever seen......all home made...even down to the lovely strawberry crumble.
A lovely 'olde worlde' pub! great value for money, wonderful food and a warm welcome!
We will most definitely visit again.

Drive past often as live in area, never been before. Building is lovely, they have not furnished it well, just a load of tables and chairs, no comfy sofa's or snug areas at all, looked like a library or social club. No soul, zero atmosphere, Landlady needs to learn how to welcome people as she was just rude and we felt like we wanted to leave immediately. However, it was gone 2pm and my son was very hungry so we stayed to eat and then got out as quick as we could, will not return. It's a shame as the roast was very tasty.

Lovely food served by friendly and accomodating staff. We had not pre booked a table but we were made to feel very welcome and seated very quickly. The atmosphere was nice which made it a very enjoyable experience.

Walking distance from B&B, traditional country put. Good menu selection. Quiet for a Saturday night.
