I stayed at La Reunion this November 2011 as part of a wedding group from the U.S. I was in one of the suites with its own infinity plunge pool and attached jacuzzi. The rate is very expensive by Guatemalan standards, but you would definitely get much less for the price in the U.S. The room was impeccable.
The resort is in one of the most beautiful settings I've ever seen, set between 3 volcanoes just outside of Antigua, Guatemala (charming Spanish colonial city with a strong European influence). I did not golf but many of my friends did and said the course is amazing as well.
The room service takes forever, but the front desk and restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. Be prepared for some pretty crazy bug sightings, several people in the group ended up making calls to desk to have someone kill spiders. I myself did not have any bug problems. I will remember this as one of the most beautiful, relaxing places I have ever seen, I highly recommend it.More
