Our initial reception the Inn was efficient, rather than warm and we were warned in no uncertain terms that dinner in the bar was on a "first come, first served" basis. This turned out to be good advice as we went to dinner at 6.30 and the bar was almost full!
The food was ok, but not special except the haggis starter, which was very good indeed.
All rooms have a view of the loch, which is stunning in all weather. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the shower very hot. Despite having the access code, etc., I could not get the wifi to work at any time during our stay.
The ferry starts before 0630 in the morning, so do not expect a long, uninterrupted lie-in!
One additional expense to consider is the cost of ferry crossings. If you are exploring the area you will probably use the ferry at least a couple of time a day. At £8.20 each way, this can easily mount up. We spent £40 in just two days! It is a very short crossing and costs over £1 per minute! It is efficient and convenient but the staff on it are genuinely unfriendly (not just ambivalent, they were actually unpleasant) and it is very costly for what it is.More
