“fabulous food”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

We didn't look for any other options outside the Inn as the breakfast was amazing. Great choice & the food was cooked to perfection. Black pudding the best I've ever had!!!! Evening meals were soooo tasty. Think it was the venison stew I had the 1st night......WOW!!!!!!!!

Thank-you for your lovely review of the Inn. The venison casserole is one of our most popular dishes and is usually well received. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

“Ferry good night out!!!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

6 of us staying at Bunree caravan site. Wee walk along to ferry, then free crossing over to Ardgour Inn. Promptly shown to our table in restaurant. Great menu and food was absolutely lovely, and reasonably priced. Our waitress was very attentive and we had a lovely evening. Handy sitting in the restaurant as you can keep an eye out for the ferry home. Will definitely be back - a different way to spend Saturday night!!

“A hearty meal on a rainy Scottish day.”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

On a damp rainy day walked to the Corran ferry and travelled the short 5 minute crossing to visit this inn. We arrived after 4pm and enjoyed a couple of drinks in the warm pleasant surroundings. We understood that they do not serve food until 5.30pm but looked at the menu in the meantime. It is important to let them know that you are going to eat there as they will only take a fixed number of orders at a time. I understand this as it appeared to me by the quality of the food that it is cooked to order. My starter of potato skins with cheese and mushrooms was really good, crispy as if you had cooked them at home and just taken them out of the pan! Home made soup and crusty bread for my other half was followed by a home made chicken curry with rice, pappadom, naan bread and mango chutney and was full of flavour. We had a friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar and talked to her father who sat for a chat with us and to admire our dog ( who was also made welcome in the bar area) The central heating was on and the warm surroundings matched the welcome we experienced here. Well worth the ferry crossing which is free to foot passengers (and dogs)

“Incredibly poor attitude to customer care”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

Having visited/stayed at the Ardgour Inn on 4 previous occassions we have seen and heard other guests register (sometimes overseas guests) their unhappiness with service and the quality of food. We had viewed, from a distance, the lack of good rapport between Inn manager and client and seen it as something not to get involved in - as it didn't affect us. We are currently on our fourth (and it will definately be our last) visit - following on from what today has been a disturbing dialogue with the Inn Manager over availability of dinner tables for residents. It is not really the issue that residents could be better served by the Inn in how they are allocated times or reminded at breakfast to book early to ensure they secure a table, over non-residents - although that is an issue the Inn management should consider. It is the aggressive and rude manner of the Manager in how he addresses his customers - which we have seen before but has now been directed at us that is unacceptable.
If you value your £ and want to be treated well as a guest I would suggest you might want to re-consider the merits of the Ardgour and the 4.5 Tripadvisor score before booking. I know we will be going elsewhere in future - perhaps even the new Travellodge in Fort William will set a standard of service which the Ardgour will have to aspire to in future if it wants income. Competition after all can sometimes be a force for good.
View 10/10, Hospitality 1/10.

“Ferry to the Inn”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

We had a pleasant run to Ft William then a run down the Corran Ferry to cross for an enjoyable lunch at the Inn. The Inn is just at the ferry slip and is a great stop for lunch or a pint!
The food is fresh made good hearty food to enjoy at the Corran narrows on Loch Linnie in a great family owned hotel.
Well worth a visit.
