“Service at its very best”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Superb service at the hotel, got me out of a pickle when 2 of my pre-booked taxis didn't turn up when the general manager drove me to a business meeting himself.
Large rooms and serenely quiet. Rooms slightly dated though in good order and very clean.

After all this small things that make you crazy about the place I would say we left unimpressed and even disappointed.

Caffeine-free coffee in a room and surprise about new towels in the morning in the hotel (we did not ask, we did not inform that we need) that is supposed to be Green Key licenced was the list of unpleasant surprises.

Shabby walls in the upgraded room (hotel was almost empty, so it is unlikely that we happen to be in the last available room). Crushed mattresses on the bed that were not taken care of properly or overused.

The thing that totally spoiled an impression is that buffet-breakfast was not organised for us on the second day and as advised by an employee: "We don't do it when there is so few guests in the hotel". So those who are there are not that important obviously...

So they asked us to tell them "what we need" and they will serve it for us. We had to do it from our memory - no menu available and no advise, just silence and waiting. (What you don't know won't hurt you)

The cooked food that day was made in a deep-fryer with an old oil(!!!) and the plates were cold. and it is in a restaurant that is next door to a michelin-star restaurant that is owned by the hotel too!

I am even afraid to mention that 4-star hotel at least should provide a proper tea.

I stayed here recently for work. The hotel is ok, but feels rather dated and i personally found the room quite cold in the evening. The service was ok, but the staff in the bar were perhaps a little pushy

This is a great hotel. The rooms are not as modern as others I may have stayed in but certainly they are very spacious, comfortable and clean. They are also incredibly quiet!

The staff is very friendly. The reception area is also very comfy. However what really surprised me about this hotel is the adjoining Michellin star restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food simply spectacular. A real treat for your sensory buds!

This hotel looks like a Swiss chalet with its trim and flower boxes in the windows. Not far from the main street but really tucked away and thus, very quiet. Our room was quite small but neat, clean and well cared for. Breakfasts and dinners were very good. Reception staff were very cordial and welcoming. Also helpful with local information. The pool and sauna were very nice.

We asked for a quiet room and we sure got one: we did not hear a single thing at night. It seemed like they kept all the guests away from our hotel wing ;-) The room and bathroom is not large but comfortable enough. Reception staff is very friendly and attentive. Restaurant is a bit gloomy but the food -- dinner as wel as breakfast (try their locally produced muesli, it is a treat) -- is great.

We went back this restaurant "Kromme Dissel" after 13 years later.
It was still marvelous. The restaurant itself is 5 stars. We stayed this hotel one night. There is a good facilities with a swimming pool and sauna. The hotel staffs are friendly towards our dog as well. We would like to go back again.
