“Not fancy, but nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

This is a Restaurant with rooms to rent. They recently added a new construction with nice and modern rooms, clean and quiet, although right beside the S-Bahn (train station). The rooms are clean, not too big, nice bathroom. Close to S-Bahn where you take the train right to Munich city center, very convenient. This way you have the chance to get a nice room, close to Munich, but way cheaper. Breakfast buffet is nice. However don't expect luxury here, but a decent and secure room. Parking available. Also close to the airport and an alternative to the airport hotels. Try the restaurant and their own beer, great bavarian food.

Room Tip: ask for the rooms in the new building. The rooms in the old building are all renovated, too, but roo...

We choose this Hotel, because of its proximity to the Airport and to Munich.
S 1 train right there. Buy a family day pass for 13.20 Euros. Takes you up to 5 people
anywhere in Munich and around with all public transportation. You can hear trains at night, but it did not bother us. Keep in mind that we had our windows wide open.
Breakfast is not bad and certainly much better then in the US. Great Coffee in Germany even if we found a Dunkin Donuts.
Rooms are small but ok for a short stay. We stayed for 4 days and did all of our sight seeing
from the Hotel. When we had dinner here, it was VERY GOOD. Good friendly service and
enough English to communicate. I am glad we picked this Hotel over any of the big chains
in Munich. We do can recommend this Hotel and have no problems staying here again.

Room Tip: Try to have dinner at the Hotel.

This hotel is nothing very special, but it is adequate. It is clean. The staff is friendly. I would stay here again.
My single room is a small room with a single bed, a smal desk, a flat-screen TV, a closet for hanging things, some shelves, a small night table, and a bathroom with a lavatory, toilet, and small shower. Some things that I miss in this clean, sterile, low-cost room are space to do exercise, a fitness center in the building, a phone in my room, and a Do-Not-Disturb sign. These are not critical items to me.
The bed is comfortable for me, but it is a simple mattress on a platform. Others may not find it to their liking. It includes a large feather pillow and a feather duvet which I find quite pleasant and comfortable.
The room has a window that looks east. I leave it open to keep the room cool, because the building is warm – even though the radiator in my room does not appear to be on in the warmth of spring. Located a few meters from the station, this makes the noise of trains louder, but they pass quickly and, compared to American trains, are relatively quiet. One of the niceties about the inn is that it is just across the street from an S-Bahn station, so that it is convenient to get to from the airport and downtown Munich on the S1 line. It will also make it easy for me to depart from. But this proximity is what makes the trains a noise issue to begin with. Those who are highly sensitive to this may find it problematic in the warm months of the year.
Breakfast, which came with my room, is adequate, but not special. They have muesli and two granola-like dry cereals. Fresh white and whole-wheat rolls are served daily, but they offer no pastries. On occasion dark rye bread is brought out. I suspect it could be had daily if requested. Fruit is limited to whole apples, some chopped mixed fruit, orange juice, and three bottled juices: passion fruit, apple, and rhubarb. They offer a selection of sliced meats and cheeses, along with hard-boiled eggs. They do have smoked salmon some days, but it was inconsistent. They offer a tea selection including Ceylon, chamomile, green tea and a few others. Coffee is always available. They also have a coffee machine that allows the staff to make cappuccino, etc. on request. One disappointment about breakfast is that what is served is a bit inconsistent. Over my five-day stay, the smoked salmon was served only twice (although on my last day, I asked for it and it was graciously brought out). One day there was no muesli provided. And the bread offerings sometimes included dark rye bread and sometimes didn’t. I suspect, however, that had I asked it would have been graciously provided.
For lunch and dinner, the restaurant has a good reputation, but I didn't eat there.
Most of the staff speaks some English. Speaking no German, it was enough to get by. But, at times, when the good English speakers were not around, I didn’t bother asking for information (e.g., local train frequency) because it was too stressful to communicate.
The hotel is 2.2-2.5 km from the Dolce Balhaus conference center - depending on the route taken. It is also 200 meters from the Lohhof business district which offers cafes, a supermarket, and a variety of shops along a kilometer stretch.
All staff was friendly and all sought to be helpful. They seemed a bit amateur compared to chain hotels. But this adds a certain charm. The "office" has only limited hours. It is often difficult to get help. During restaurant hours, help can be obtained there. In the early morning, there is no one around, should you encounter an issue.

Next to S1 so great connection to/from both the airport and city centre. It is my favourite in the neighbourhood because it allows me to be independent from taxis - I can walk to the office. Naturally, Dolce offers different comfort, but sometimes for 3x higher price :-) Good price, friendly staff. Food of Bavarian style but you are 10 minute walk from two Italian, Croatian and Indian places. I think they have just opened new rooms in near-by new building - need to try this one, it should be quieter (no noise from train nor the restaurant just sometimes the guests walking back to the room noisy if you have a room next to the stairs. Overall, my favourite in the neghbourhood for the price / location balance.

Room Tip: away from staircase

Having tried lots of hotels in the area I have found this best meets the single travellers needs. Very friendly staff. Food is very good. The rooms arevery clean, basic but all en suite and have all you need. Free wifi is an added bonus. My place of choice for staying when in this part of north Munich.

While i found all I was looking for, a room for 65euros including a health breakfast, th4e sleep quality very much depends on which side you have your room ,as the railway line might give you a shrewd awakening.

The food is grat, the beer is brewed by Haimhausener Brauerei, a small but elegant brewery, specialized on a series of 8-10 different beers, including a Christmas brew,

I love it there and whenever i have business in U'schleissheim,
will stay there overnight.

I was a little bit nervous when booked this hotel without any pictures but at the end i was very satisfied!
Very good just renovated guesthouse. Very clean, free Wifi, full german breakfast (incl. in room price). Great value for money, esp. comparing to neighbour hotels.
Very good beer restaurant on the first floor.
Just 5 min walking to Microsoft, VMWare and other big companies offices.
Train station Lohhof just in front of the hotel - 15 min to the MUC airport! 25 min to the Munich center !
