On a rainy february day we went to Rudesheim and found NOTHING op - so we searched for something else and good.
The schloss on top of the Johannisberg shows the history of Fürsts Metternich and the ancestors till Carolus Magnus.
Oh yes they still grow wine, the first and also the BEST of the Rhineland wines.
But eating in the Schloss was not cheap but of a very good quality, not the greasy mediocre german stuff but fine regional dishes in "normal" portions (zum essen nicht zum fressen).
And oh yes they serve their wines along the fine food, the cheapest is already a revelation and an explosion of tastes in the mouth.
As a belgian used to fine cooking anywhere in the world, I strongly recommend this stop over!
