Booked this resort for a weekend getaway to Bohol. While the river cruise itself was cheeky, this resort was just beautiful. Simply AWESOME staff...truly impressive. Booked a room over looking the river, pay the extra money to do this. Extremely relaxing. Just really liked the place and was perfect for the getaway.

Room Tip: for sure, pay for a room that overlooks the river. Don't miss out on this.

-Airport transfer is quite expensive.
-Check-in/Check out is fast.
-Swimming pool needs cleaning.
-Restaurant staff are friendly and will call you by your names but they always have errors in orders- either wrong order came, etc. not as attentive.
-owners always give complimentary desserts every breakfast.
-place is in the middle of nowhere. You can't walk to the main road, really far. You're just stuck in the hotel for the duration of the stay unless you avail of tours with pickups.
-expensive motorbike rental to roam around.
-nice river view, really.

Room Tip: get a river view.

our stay at loboc river was perfect relaxation...

we made a mistake with our booking and was alittle frenetic when we reached the hotel. Thankfully there was Zynn who was the owner who assured us that they had rooms. NOt only that they opened a Garden room for us to rest and slowly settle our booking with agoda and promised they would change to a river view room when we had settled it. Most places would just let you do that at the lobby to avoid you "messing up" 2 rooms...

afterwards, zynn was very hospitable as she brought us around the premises, a 10 hectares plot of land which can be seen has been tenderly developed by their family...there was a monkey island with monkeys who would run to the banks when zynn was calling out to them, there were fishes from a small stream that they had dug themselves, an organic garden with all the fresh produce being home grown....there was a very homely feel about the entire areas and you could tell the pride and love that has gone into developing this area up...the name on the board was a nice personal touch to arriving in the resort and we were impressed when they made an effort to have our name down even though we mixed up our own booking and were not supposed to arrive on that day...

we hired the kayak on the first day and just enjoyed the breeze as we rowed down the river....all the staff were very friendly and made a point to get to know your prefernces from what you had ordered to even trying to give you your favourite seat in the restaurant...the restaurant food was affordable and good, considerng that they could easily rip you off by charging a bomb given that there were very few choices avaiable at night...at night, you could ask the staff to bring you to the back area of the resort where the gardens were where fireflies lit up a tree like christmas lights...it was all very nice..

Perhaps the only suggestion was that they could have helped to gather the various guests who were going for the same attractions together to share transport, whether to the pier or for various attractions like chocolate hills etc....we stayed at alona beach and were surprised that the prices for tours were sometimes even cheaper than the hotel...this is especially since manyof the attractions at the area were nearer to loboc than alona..didnt make sense that it was still the same price when it was a 1000 php trip from alona to danao..to their credit, they did try to help us to find any guests who wanted to go on the same tour as us to danao (which was a good 2 hours and 3500 php away)..

Fantastic. We stayed in a good sized cabin looking out onto the river. The rooms are made up and cleaned every day. The food is great value for money and delicious. As stated in so many reviews, the hosts and staff are amazing. So polite, friendly and helpful. We took advantage of just about everything they had to offer. It's a bit off the beaten track in terms of nightlife but you can always book a driver to take to you Tagbilaran or Pangloa if you fancy it. Great for families, couples, friends looking for a bit of pampering in paradise. So glad we stayed here. Thanks to other trip advisor reviews for selling the place to us. Ignore mediocre reviews.

Loboc river resort is a beautiful place to stay that is away from the hustle and bustle of Tagbilaran and Panglao. The rooms are delightful and the staff go out of their way to be helpful, polite and pleasant. The tours on offer from tr resort mean you don't feel like you are missing out on location. They have everything from sea yours to countryside tours. The location is quiet and you have the privilege of seeing how the locals live too and appreciate the local community. Book a room here, I promise you will not regret it!!
