“serene cruise with scrumptious food!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2014

Loboc river is thought to be a part of the ocean or somehow connected to it. Because the fish residing in it are not freshwater but marine. The water appears green. the river is surrounded by greenery on both sides and the boat sails along.

Food : excellent: chicken, pork , beef, fish, fresh fruits n dessert. little options for vegetarians. bottomless ice tea, other drinks were paid.

Music : live music by a joyful singer. The cruise boat stops midway where local Bohol people perform live dance and music.

the river is surrounded by lush greens making it a very pleasant sight.

“Superb food! Superb music!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014 via mobile

Well, I must say that the food especially the chicken and dessert (those in shot glasses) were really really good. Grab a couple as it will be gone in minutes. LoL

The singer/band playing was also good and it was so nice as it set the mood right. In addition to the ambiance itself, the song played made us dizzy with romance.
The only downside was that, the whole crew was nice but was extremely nicer to foreigners.

go really early so you can get the crabs- it is so limited. The Pork Humba so full of thick fatty layer, Fish Fillet (Dory) so hard and dry- as if they were repeatedly fried. The Seaweed salad was ok. Fruits were sweet(Pineapples so sweet),their Bihon was terrible.but the SHow was great, the River ride was smooth- wont feel dizzy, it was breezy, have to bring some bills- need to tip the singers, basket goes around per table

“Looks like a turist trap, but very enjoyable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

While spending one day exploring Bohol (we did Chocolate hills and Tarsiers in the morning) our driver suggested this Loboc cruise for lunch. I was suspecting a turist trap with overpriced food, but it was actually a very nice break. Food is basic, and probably not worth what you pay, but having a quiet lunch while flowing through the green jungle landscape was very enjoyable. You rest, and while drinking your San-miguel a band is playing music and singing classics. And they are good, as often in the Philippines. The boat will make a few stops at little docks where locals will dance, sing, play music.. and ask for charity. But always with smile.
Very enjoyable and better than what I thought.

“Regular lunch but relaxing and comforting views”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2014

Stepped onto the Loboc River Cruise as part of my countryside tour, but the River Cruise has a separate fee. I took the more expensive cruise, though the two vehicles looked the same. The food is regular lunch fare that can be had in Manila, but what saved it was the view of the Loboc River from the boat, and the Ati tribe children jumping into the water - but even that is somewhat commercialized.

The man playing the guitar played songs in English, Tagalog, Cebuano, Japanese, and Chinese, and he was cool!

Someone took pictures of me, and, as expected, there was a fee. There were fees for extra drinks. By the time I left it felt like the entire thing was a tourist trap.

Still recommended, though, if only for the views.
