“Dreadful. This is not what a river cruise should be.”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

First we were rushed onto a boat with 40 or so other people for one of the lousiest meals we had in the Philippines. Then the boat went a short distance down the river to stop and listen to some women playing the ukulele. Then another very short distance down the river and back to the start. This was a total waste of time and is not a river cruise at all. River cruises imply an outing in nature, where one will peacefully be able to listen to the sounds of the birds, water and trees, whatever. This had the worst of American 50s and 60s music being butchered by a lousy singer and an even worse sound system. That ruined what little there was to enjoy about the experience. Don't waste your time or money on this.

“Another Pawikan Review - Loboc River Cruise - Loay”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

There are 2 points where tourists can cruise Loboc River - 1. From the New Loboc River Day Cruise Center - Near the Museo De Loboc and The Church in San Pedro
2. Is in Loay, near the river mouth

Pawikan is one of the boats there.

There are 2 buffet choices
Regular Menu - Some meat and fish 380 pesos
Special Menu - With Prawn, Crab and Fried Lechon - 500 pesos

We got the Special - and here it went
Crab - skinny crabs that was not fresh. Perhaps in its 3rd serving ....
Prawn - Breaded prawn with the shells on - Ridiculous
Fried Lechon - Was good, crispy and well done
Dessert of Ube and Turon is profound

Close to a rip-off if we consider the food alone. However
The cruise requires a lot to operate e.g. the ship and crew.

One of the stops of the cruise is a visit to the Ati-Tribe. An indigenous people in the south

“Cultural experience”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

It was so refreshing to see local performers who are still "upto it" in dancing the Tinikling and other Phils Native dances. My son was able to watch it front row! And it was a good experience for him. I didnt mind giving tips to them as they have in a way 'revived' the spirit of Phil Culture during our trip. It was a wonderful experience --
The only thing that I'm worried about the place is that, it might get too commercialized in time, due to increasing visitors -- I hope that the local government will take steps in avoiding this to happen, nonetheless - control the pollution level and garbage.. Hopefully it stays that way as this is also an avenue for locals to earn their hard-earned money.
