This is a charming neighborhood restaurant with good atmosphere, especially the open fire with ribs cooking over it. When we arrived, we were told that they were all out of chicken, which wasn't a problem as we were there for ribs. For just €12, we had a plate with a substantial amount of ribs, a baked potato and a nice, fresh salad. The ribs had a nice seasoning salt on them for flavor. There were, however, no sauces available. I asked for sauce, but seems they don't offer it.
Before we finished, we saw the restaurant turning away two parties saying that they were now also out of ribs. This was on Father's Day ! I'm afraid that Mr. Koekoek may have spent his Saturday watching the World Cup rather than shopping for provisions for the restaurant.
Even still any restaurant can have an off night. I would say that this is a perfectly pleasant place to stop in for perfectly delicious, smokey ribs.
