Thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay here surrounded by hop fields and farms. My room was spacious and full of natural light, the breakfasts were simple with plenty of delicious options, including locally made jams (three different kinds of rhubarb jams the days I was there), breads, meats, cheeses, and personally cooked eggs if desired.

A bike was available and I made good use of it, exploring the area nearby for several hours. I had a car too and easily made my way into Poperinge, Abele (visit Noel's beer shop there!), and over to St. Sixtus abbey. The cost is very reasonable and I left well-fed and well-rested!

Of course, it's right next door to the St. Bernardus brewery, which offers a great tour. And, their beers are available to guests at the B&B in several well-stocked mini-fridges in the common area.

We stayed here for two nights and LOVED it! We rented bikes to explore the area and were pleasantly at the great beer and food we found in nearby "towns." Everything is so quaint in this part part of Belgium.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful, room was ample and breakfast was good. We even purchased some St. Bernardus gifts and managed an informal tour of the brewery. There was plenty St. Bernardus and other local beer available in the lounge area. Delicious. And we were very close to the Westvlettern brewery.

If you're on the Belgian beer trail, be sure to add this stop to your itinerary-- and if you enjoy strong, rich beers, it's a dream come true. As other reviewers mentioned, the B&B is located next to the brewery and their former cheese making facility. A practical tip-- if you're facing the brewery, the B&B is located to the right through a vine-covered archway with a tiny "B&B" sign. The rooms are quiet and comfortable-- but don't spend too much time there! Drop off your things and head to the living room (or the picturesque grounds on a nice day) where you can enjoy three mini-fridges full of all of the St. Bernardus beers for an optional donation. As you'll be cautioned upon arrival, the beers are strong, so pace yourself with the provided water and soda! The living area is also well stocked with books and board games.
Full breakfast is included (eggs to order, cold meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, pastries, coffee and tea- which you'll need to soak up the beer from the previous evening...) and served in a lovely tree-filled sunroom. The staff, especially Jacky, is very helpful and can suggest local activities, restaurants for dinner (like t'Hommelhof in Watou, which is great!), and help arrange tours of the brewery. Several bicycles are available to borrow for a short ride to Watou or to visit other breweries in the region (the Westvleteren cafe is about 18km away). With excellent quality and value, this is a quintessential Belgian experience.

I was traveling with a beer-loving group (BonBeerVoyage.com) and we were able to stay here for two nights. We were treated to an incredibly warm, wonderful stay by Jackie (our hostess) -- with delicious breakfasts and access to the fully-stocked refrigerators in the living room (St. Bernardus beer). I had the pleasure of the third floor attic suite which was so lovely. I felt very at-ease and at-home here. Highly recommend if you want to relax and enjoy a quiet, peaceful place.

We stayed here mid-September for two nights as we kicked off the Belgian side of our vacation. This B&B is located outside of Watou, next door to the St Bernadus Brewery. Once we checked in, Jackie inquired if we wanted to particpate in the brewery tour that evening if the tour group was ok with it. We jumped on a chance to be able to see the brewery and would not have had the opportunity if Jackie had not suggested it. We had a beautiful room on the top floor that was quite spacious. The B&B itself is quite large with many common areas to relax and enjoy one of the many specialty beers brewed by St. Bernadus. The breakfast each morning was excellent with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, breads, yougurt and fruit. On top of that, Jackie will make you a small omelette to accompany your feast. We would definitely return to this place. You do need to have a car if you want to stay here.

A truely beautiful & quiet location just 2km outside of Watou. Spacious rooms with TVs if you must. Quiet relaxing lounge & sitting area with a conservatory for the delicious breakfasts of local meat, cheese, bread & jams. Several fridges stocked daily with the truely excellent Abbey style beers from the famous Sint Bernardus Brewery next door
Some great cycling on & off road nearby as well as good walking. Also local War Cemetarys & the Hop Museum in Poperinge in worth a visit.
Some local resturants & bars can close at unusual times but we purchased local cheeses & meats etc and borrowed plates and stayed in a couple of nights.
Very relaxing and would recommend to anybody not just a beer geek like me ;-)

Okay staying at St Bernadus Brewery is pretty cool and there is definitely an interesting feel to the place. The house is spacious. You get the run of the house downstairs as its more mini hotel (without staff and restaurant) than it is b&b. You do get a supply of the brewery output to consume also. Breakfast is excellent Belgian style incl some great pistoletjes.

However if you are not driving a car then its located about 3km from Watou itself and where the dining options on weekdays and outside of summer can be a bit limited.

Its okay value to stay and you get a good nights sleep, especially after a couple of 12's.
