The view from our top floor was tres extraordinaire! We loved the lake region, and only wished we had more than 2 days to spend in the area. We ate 1 night in the dining room, and though our meal was good, I am not sure it was as exceptional as the price of the meal. Other meals we ate in nearby Chambery were excellent, and about 1/3 the cost of our meal at Ombremont. The AC and ventilation in our room worked poorly, and since we were there in the summer - it was stuffy in our room. We loved the pool, and the grounds around the hotel. I would recommend staying at this property - just know that it will be pricey.

Room Tip: Any view on the lakeside is great, but top floor is the best.p

I am not talking about my wife and I but about the Hotel! Overlooking Lac du Bourget, the location has magnificent views of the lake and surrounding Alps. Our higher grade room was very tired looking including the wrinkled carpet. Exterior decoration to our balcony and what we could see of the rest of the hotel was in severe need of some TLC.
The restaurant has a single Michelin star and all appearances are that this is where the money is being spent. Even so, the decor left much to be desired and the very young staff could do much better with some proper guidance and training. The meal itself was very good so full marks here.
Breakfast was rather shambolic and disorganised which was due to a complete lack of involvement by the staff on duty that morning. Could and should do much better.
Finally, just a we were leaving La Patronne appeared and was actually welcoming. On arrival, she had completely ignored us!
In my opinion, this hotel is one of the poorer members of the Relais & Chateaux collection.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Lake have the best views but suffer from reflected noise from both the lake and the town.

we were in town for a wedding and we stayed at the hotel. To start off inspite of clearly communicating that we wanted a room with a view of the lake and recieving confirmation that it would be the case we got one with a garden view. We wanted to go down for dinner at 9:15 only to be told that the chef closed the resturant 30 min early, French laziness at its finest. I would seriously avoid.

Hotel.com nailed the exact place we were looking for. Views of the lake from all three rooms, super chef in Michelin 2 star restaurant made dining a pleasure. Wish we had spent more time walking the area instead of in the van. Beautiful setting, wonderful 3 days.
