We were not in the restaurant proper, but were at the Abbaye d'Ambronay for the Baroque Music Festival. The Fourchette du Père Vincent did the catering in one of the Abbey buildings with an early dinner pre-concert menu. The idea was to get all the clients out in time so it was a little hectic, but superbly managed. The surrounding were a delight and while the menu was naturally limited, given the circumstances, it was excellent. Service was friendly and the whole experience was the nicest possible introduction to the festival. I have no doubt that if we had gone to the Fourchette restaurant proper, it would have been a five-star restaurant experience.
