“Fantastic”

After a shocking stay at Bordeaux we were looking for a place that was clean and comfortable. We got so much more! The town of Fouras is amazing with so much to do. We parked the car outside Hotel Des Bains and did not get in again until we left. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Wi-fi and televsion signals great. The owners gave us some great places to eat and made suggestions of things to do but to be honest there is so much this place has to offer. It is really set up as a family resort with activities to keep the kids amused for ages. Everything is within walking distance. I only wish we had been able to stay longer. Hotel Des Bains - hioghly recommended!

This is a nice hotel in a lovely town. The staff and manager were very helpful. breakfast was very good with a wide range of items and plenty of it. Eating it outside in the courtyard was a special treat. Private parking in a a garage over the road is available but it is expensive.
It was our room that let the stay down. We were in room 6 which is on the small side and on the ground floor. It also faces the road not the courtyard as most do. The room windows (large ones) were right onto the footpath and less than 2meters from the road which got busy from 06.30 onwards. There were no curtains as such in the room only nets which provided privacy in the day but not at night. Any passing pedestrian could put their nose against the window glass if they chose. Only by going onto the street and closing the wooden shutters by hand could any privacy be had in the room or bathroom. apart from its location the room was OK and was clean.
If we had been in a different room I am sure the rating would have been higher as so much else about the hotel was good. I would stay there again but not in room 6.

Room Tip: Do not get room 6 on the street.

Since our last visit, the property has changed hands and it has become even nicer. We got the last room available and although small-ish it was pleasant and clean. The welcome was friendly and relaxed. The breakfast we found to be well priced for the varied choice available and eating in the courtyard ( with our dog ) was a great start to the day.

We went for a pizza in the close by pizzeria however, and I can only say it was a disaster. They obviously had a large group takeaway and the few tables in the restauarant had to wait for a looooooong time to get served and the pizzas I am sure would have been good if they had been hot and better if they had been served with a smile.

To the hotel....we will be back

Room Tip: Try to geta room looking on to the inner courtyard

we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is located centrally but in a quiet area and very close to the beach. The rooms are very clean and spacious enough. The breakfast was nice but I thought the coffee could have been better. The breakfast costs 8 EUR and we had in a different hotel same quality breakfast at a lower price so that was for us a bit of a let down but overall it is a really pleasant place, offering comfort, free WiFi. It would have been lovely to have tea & coffee making facilities in the room. I still recommend the hotel because it offers a good quality accommodation at a resonable price in a fantasticly peaceful place. The town however is rather on the expensive side.

We stayed here for an overnight only. We wished we had stayed longer. The room was large and the welcome was friendly. There is a large interior courtyard where you can have breakfast or just relax. The hotel is literally steps from the largest of the four beaches in Fouras. Wifi is available throughout. The bathroom and shower were good which is not always the case with hotels at this price. While it is a seaside town it has a village atmosphere. and we wished we could have stayed longer.
