I have visited here several times before, but this was the first time for our 11 year old twin daughters, who have recently been studying WW2 at school.

A stunning experience for them, seeing the huge scale of war casualties - and so impressive that the cemetery is beautifully designed and laid out, and perfectly kept.

The memorial site is extremely well kept and in a completely appropriate, scenic location. The memorial structures are impressive and the raised access area overlooking the war graves certainly makes you stop and think.

On the main road but so peaceful. 11,000 graves mainly from ww1. Impeccably kept, interesting files to look through also. Worth a visit. Also some lovely plants and flowers in there. Very thought provoking.

We had read about this cemetary, its arches designed by Lutyens, for those who fell in the First World War. On our visit, we were so impressed by the way the graves and area around was kept so neatly.Despite the distance of years, we felt that it was held in great respect by those responsible for its upkeep.

This was the first war cemetery we visited and it has left a lasting impression. There are 11,000 graves here, mainly British but also a special area with Indian men, some Chinese and some German graves. The cemetery is in a beautiful setting just off a main road and is definitely worth a visit.
