We stayed at Mandarava Resort for 9 nights mid July and absolutely loved the hotel, restaurant and most importantly, the friendly staff.
The rooms are new and very stylish, loved the choice of furniture. The entrance foyer is absolutely stunning. We had a room overlooking the Mango pool and the ocean so relaxing on the large balcony was great! We swam in 2 out of the 3 pools, had a drink and food from the pool bar and it was like heaven on earth after spending hours in the township in the heat and humidity. We walked to the shops and beach most days, very good way to experience the 'real' Thailand and the locals way of living.
Yes, we did struggle the first few days with the steep walk back up to the hotel and then the steps to our room but took the view that it was helping with our fitness. Good excuse to have many massages as well, and after 3 days the pain in my calf muscles had gone completely so could walk up steps freely.
The rooms were serviced daily to a very high standard. Our few suggestions would be that fans be installed in the bathrooms as these get very hot. It would also be good to have a communal laundry for guests staying longer than a few days. We sent out laundry via the hotel initially but this was very expensive so ended...We stayed at Mandarava Resort for 9 nights mid July and absolutely loved the hotel, restaurant and most importantly, the friendly staff.

The beds are too firm for Westerners but asking for a mattress topper brings some relief. Another reason to indulge in some massages, bliss!
The restaurant and staff are fabulous with breathtaking views and lovely breezes. The manager, Pi, is a lovely man, always stopping for a chat and even put on two movie nights for us complete with sun loungers and complimentary snacks. Nu, Mam, Ben, O and Arm are beautiful people, always smiling, ready to help and very friendly.
We would especially like to thank Ju, the hotel manager. She helped us tremendously with information regarding day trips, sightseeing etc. She speaks very good English which was so helpful to us, especially as my husband is a Vegan and we needed food ingredients translated etc. Nothing was a problem for her and we wanted to give her a big hug before we left but it was her day off. All of the staff at reception were pleasant, friendly and more than willing to help with any queries.
We would definitely return to Mandarava and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a slice of heaven on earth. Actually, we would like to live there.More
