Du Cote des Olivades
Ranked #3 of 3 Hotels in Paradou
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We have visited Du Cote des Olivades each year for the past 7 years, however when we contacted them this year our favourite room was already booked so we thought that we would try somewhere new in the area and save a bit of money in the process....

A BIG mistake

Having done so we fully realise how good this hotel really is on every level ~ the setting is superb with swimming pools to die for, the rooms are very tastefully finished and impeccably clean and I could go on but it is the Bourguignon family that set this place apart from the rest ~ they are superlatively welcoming but professional hosts who ensure that you have a perfect stay.

I also must give a special mention to the restaurant which under the expert eye of Madame Bourguignon delivers consistently faultless food of the highest quality

This is not the cheapest hotel in world but some things in life are reassuringly expensive....

Loved the views, the common areas both inside and out, the comfortable, spacious and quiet room and the lavish gourmet breakfast with so many wonderful local and house-made products.
Wifi worked great, loved the spacious bath and amenities too. Only thing that would make it better is if it were easier walking distance from town... but that's a minor detail and would not keep us from staying there again. Due to the cold rainy spring the pool was still under construction/renovation so that area was not useable.

This place is amazing! Lovely hotel, fantastic service, food to die for and it's run by an adorable family. It feels like home away from home but better!! I definitely recommend staying there and it is an excellent base for exploring the most beautiful parts of Provence (Gordes, les baux and roussillon). We had two nights there and on the second night we decided to have dinner in the Michelin starred cabro d'or.... Big mistake! Should have eaten in cote des olivades twice! They deserve a star while cabro d'or should lose theirs!!
Eat there, you will love it! I can't compliment this place enough.

We stayed here as its close to a lot of very nice villages, Paradou is one. We did not have dinner at the restaurant, but it looked good. The hotel is a very nicely designed, and the staff were helpful. The facilities and pool are first rate. The bedroom was a bit small, and like a lot of French hotels there are no coffee/tea making facilities, but perhaps we are in the minority here.

You'll really like Paradou and Du Cote des Olivades.

The hotel is in a small and very charming town that is close to the best towns and villages in Provence.....just make sure you get GPS with you rental car!

We travelled to Du Cote des Olivades after being in Paris for 5 nights and found this hotel to be very pretty with amazing scenery and incredibly quiet.

Rooms: Very comfortable. The linens and beds are fantastic with amazing views of the escarpment.

Food: We had several breakfasts and they were very fresh with many choices of breads, croissant, pain au chocolate, amazing orange juice and a fruit salad that was out of this world. Eggs, bacon, pancakes and traditional French fare was also available - we didn't have any though.

We had 1 fantastic dinner here. The food was exceptional; however, the service almost ruined it for us. They close the restaurant early (between 9:30 and 10pm) and you're not welcome to stay much later. We ate and chatted with a couple we had met during dinner and the staff made it quite clear we needed to wrap it up versus giving us an alternative to enjoy a drink at the pool or leave us with a bottle of wine and lock the main part of the hotel. This would have happened in places with more experienced staff and would have made us feel much more comfortable and heightened our experience.

Service: I would have said this hotel was a 5; however, the service wasn't what I would classify as exceptional. The owners are training their daughter to run the hotel and you can tell she's under a tremendous amount of stress because she was abrupt and at times abrasive.

The rest of the staff was friendly and I commend the owners for hiring and training young people from Brussels as wait staff - they were very accommodating.

All in all, if you chose this hotel, you won't be disappointed

This is simply on of the very best hotels in the Provence. Coming from 2 star Michelin hotel just before, we were overwhelmed by the high level standards meeting the very friendly atmosphere of this demi French / demi Belgian family business. The bDesign suites are spacious and top of comfort and luxury. The Food is simply fantastic and based on The best fresh products chef Nancy Bourginion uses. The Family Bourginion has it all.. The perfect place in The Provence. They even serve cold Duvel at diner. And you can work it out in the fantastic Spa.

Close to very nices villages (Paradou,Maussane, Saint Remy de Provence), this hotel is perfect with a very nice garden, big swimming-pool, excellent cooking, nice people.
Rooms are modern with lot of storage furniture, beautiful bathrooms. Rooms are a little bit small, but beds are so big and comfortable !
you can benefit from a Spa and again, here it is really magic with all services you wish to have.

Room Tip: We had a room "Chambre DeLuxe" on ground floor with little terrasse. Perfect
