“Very much geared to the French visitor and when the kids arrive...”
Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

We stayed in the hotel on site as a base for a few days initially, arrived on the Thursday, left on the Sunday (which seemed to be an en mass arrival day for families with kids) to return Monday night for two more days.

When we left it was a relaxed pleasant place, not too bad and fairly quiet, we got back on the Monday evening and the place had turned into a French version of Butlins with a seething mass of babies, toddlers, teens, bouncy castles, cabaret, and all manner of tacky activities to fleece parents of their hard earned Euros.

If thats your thing then it may be right up your street, but learn some French, as very few speak a word of English and bring plenty of spending money.

Currently staying in the hotel and can't believe they offer the same menu for lunch and dinner - all week, every week! Not great if there's only one thing you like (family member has had the same chicken dish over 10 times already). Even the service staff seemed embarrassed when we asked if it ever changed.
Other facilities are great but everything is charged (even the sun beds by the pool) and service is variable, depending on who you get and how their day is going.

I consider my self being tolerant and don't mind coping without a grunt...BUT...this was my worst experience. This should teach you to never book a hotel via the nice pictures. It started on the arrival...where a very rude girl via the intercom at the entrance gate brushed me of when I asked her how to proceed to the reception...and this was only the start. All hotels I lived in along the Cote d'Azur, both budget and luxury has one thing in common...some kind of air condition...NOT THIS ONE...not even a good ventilation and we stayed in their UPPER LEVEL appartment. Well...the kids liked pools, what kid would not?...but if you want to enjoy some quality vacation go elsewhere.

Excellent stay, with all kind of things to do from riding horses to golf. Or simply relax at one of the many great pools. Great place for children, as all pools has lifeguards. The pool areas are not overcrowded, and you can find plenty of things to do if you feel for a short trip to Nice, or one off the local cities.

Room Tip: Get a room for more people than your group / family. This is France, with very small rooms

We (2 adults and three children) stayed in a VIP 2 room apartment for 4-5 persons for a week. As the resort is very large, the VIP location close to the pool was good. Apartment is very small but we managed, one big drawback is that it lacks air condition or even a fan!
The resort is very nicely built with a great pool area but I agree with other comments: everything is a little bit dated and there are too few sun beds around the pools. Restaurants are mediocre and quite expensive: sodas 0,5 L cost 6 €!
The kids joined two events with the kids/junior club, they had fun both times but it costed us 100 € (20 per kid and time or 99 for 6 events, each event lasting 3 hours)

The impression is that P&V really charge you for everything and then delivers medium quality for a high price. Even so we all had a great time at Cap Esterel because of the pool and the surroundings (Agay, Frejus, St Raphael).

The kids ( 4, 6, 11, and 18 years old) loved this place, it was heaven for them. two pools, one with waves, a kid / teens center activity, if you wanted some free time, a club, and all other kinds of activities, all gear toward children from 3 to 17. There is also a supermarket, a bakery, a cafe place, 3 or 4 restaurants, and a shop. We pretty much cooked at the timeshare, a duplex with a balcony, which is well equipped. I don't remember seeing an air conditioner or a fan, we went in August and it was extremely hot. Thank god our flat was high up so we can get some breeze from the sea.

We rented bikes to go around the resort, and also went for several runs and the surrounding is beautiful.

This place is really good for children but there are certain things that can be improved, such as:

Staff - a little more friendly and useful ( this place is expensive enough not to have a customer service oriented staff)

All inclusive or semi inclusive options - these options are available with an additional fees but certain things like breakfast could be included. It almost feels like: "we are going to make you pay for everything kind of attitude"

A renovation upgrade around the pool - there is absolutely not enough space for everyone to enjoy sun bathing around the pool. You have to be there bright and early to get a spot. This resort is huge so they have enough space. Also, they charge you, again, for more comfortable lounge chairs.

People from outside the resort can access the resort - no so great. the first thing I thought when we arrived was: " yay! let the children run around and sip some wine" and you are telling me outsiders can access the facility?

Again, I gave it a 4 stars for the children amenities but this is expensive place lacks of certain basics of an exclusive area.
