We enjoyed very much our sojourn in Suare. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere of the surounding while we walked through the mountain and the empty shore in the early hours each morning. Our hosts' house is very convenient, comfortable and well equiped.
Case Albore is nestled up in the hills . It is a bit off the beaten track. The setting is beautiful. There are two bathrooms one upstairs with sink and toilet near bedroom and one full bath downstairs with shower/ tub toilet .Kitchen 1st class.
We were two older couples and were very pleased about having toilets near bedrooms. The steps to second floor are a spiral staircase but no a problem. Parking is on the street down the driveway and space is always available. Quiet except for the birds singing. The views across the hills to the sea is beautiful
Small villages and towns are great day trips. Groceries are available in Luri about 15-20 minutes away.
We are english speakers and found the instructions in english for appliances: dishwasher ,washer and dryer were lacking. The brochure supplied was very helpful for beaches and walks.
We would suggest coastal walk near Tollare or Barcaggio at the northern tip. Centuri is a nice fishing village and a nice place for for lunch on the harbor. The town and harbor of Macinggio
is pretty and full of yachts in a pretty little harbor fairly close to Casa Albore.
Casa Albore is a great house to stay in with room for up to 7 people, so ideal for our large family. There is a very well-appointed kitchen with adjoining terrace, offering serene views over wooded valleys to the sea. The upstairs bedroom is light and spacious. There's a roomy living area. There are two other bedrooms, adjoining each other, which are quite small but perfectly fine, and a bed-couch in the living room. The main bathroom is a good size, and there's also a shower room downstairs, ideal for coming in from excursions to beach etc. The whole house is beautifully decorated, and pretty also from the outside with shutters and vibrant flowers. You more-or-less require a car to stay here, as the house is in quite a remote hillside hamlet accessed via a single-track winding road. But it's a lovely road cutting through woods, which provide a home for wild boar, birds and other wildlife. The owners have put together a helpful guide to the house and the surrounding area, which was particularly useful for visiting less-known sites, such as cool freshwater pools to swim in. The house is only a 10-minute drive from the sea and the main coastal road, and there are plenty of beaches and other sites of interest within easy distance, ideal for day excursions.
