By FAR our favorite place in Myanmar... top 3 worldwide

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 11, 2013
My girlfriend and I stayed here in December 2012. While in Myanmar we slept in Yangon, Kyaiktiyo, an overnight train, This establishment, and Old Bagan. We both agreed this was the pinnacle of our trip... if not top three places worldwide.

For the value, you can't beat this. We rented bikes and rode to Nyaung Shwe stopping at Red Mountain Estate Winery - what an awesome day (although we would recommend bringing a headlamp to see your way back on the roads after sunset!). Another day we hired a canoe for a trip around the lake and the 5-day market and saw the usual floating sights; the lotus flower factory, silver/goldsmith, blacksmith, etc... We would recommend picking up a bottle of wine from the Winery and drinking it on your porch - just be mindful of the mosquitoes!

The outdoor shower was a nice treat and we enjoyed it daily under the stars!

The staff was MORE than accommodating and helped wherever possible, giving advice on things to do and arranging the canoe and a taxi to Heho airport.

We arrived here via overnight train from Bago / Thazi and left via Heho airport to Mandalay.

Honestly, this was a dream come true... Thank you!

This is a wonderful hotel. I love the curtains around the beds. There was an outdoor shower, but we were always out during the day and it was too cold to use after the sun went down, so I never used it. Wi-fi worked in the lobby/bar area, but not in the room. The surrounding area burns their brush, so we woke up every morning to a lot of smoke. The rooms move a little with the waves occasionally. The food was good, and a lot of nice variety. They had a guy sing Elvis songs every evening, and on our last night their was an ethnic dance presentation. I really liked it, but my roommate thought it was too loud. My roommate loved the water, but I thought it was too marshy too be pretty. I wanted the water to be crystal, like in the South Pacific, but it isn't. You can see the leg rowers ever day as you leave and come back.

The Myanmar Treasure Inle Lake hotel was a highpoint in our Myanmar trip. The staff could not have been more accommodating, moving chairs and tables around on the patio so that our group of 18 could have a pre-dinner Happy Hour in honor of a birthday. Rooms are charming, surrounded by water so that the atmosphere of being on Inle Lake is ever-present. And yes, the hot water bottles in the bed were welcome in the cool evening. Definitely recommended!

We had some cash left over and Inle Lake was our last stop before heading home - so we decided to spend our last two nights on the lake... we got so much more than we expected!!

The lake is so beautiful and quiet after the hustle and noise of the last few days in Nyaung Shwe. The staff are amazing! - the room was beautiful with our own private view of the lake... we even got a love note on our pillow when we returned from dinner - with hot water bottles heating our bed.
A great way to end our holiday in a wonderful country!

Room tip: ask for a room facing the lake - great to watch the sun setting over the lake from your own private balcony..

There is nothing like waking up and looking out from your bed and room to see mist coming off the lake, and then it clearing to being calm and clear.
Located on the lake, you deserve at least one night to enjoy the experience.
We were lucky enough to meet up with an excellent foreign guide, Keith of Slow Burma Travel, and he showed us around the lake and the hills around for two days, which really made our time there.
You can find him at Mr A Tun's travel agency on the main street.
Would stay at this place again.

Since the hotel has all motors turned off about 50 meters from the entrance I don´t know what one of the reviewers was complaining about. It´s a big lake with lots of small boats...use ear plugs.

The cabins are wonderful. Double beds, a lovely seating area (small living room) mlooking out onto the comfy porch, an alcove with desk, big bath with tub and outdoor shower.

Food wasn´t New York City but there were plenty of choices and they did have Burmese dishes.

My private tours generally started about 8:30 and ended about three so there was time for a delightful spa treatment before dinner. The music started at 7 or 7 ;30 and ended by eleven.

I slept like a lamb

BEWARD the local gin is dreadful and if I wanted a martini there agin it would be Gordon´s straigh up!!!! The Vermouth is suspicious as well :-)

Room tip: I was one row back and had a lake view. If you want ful on lake view you will pay for it and might possible hear more motors.
