My preferred restaurant by some distance in that strip of chic Normandy coastline between Trouville and Cabourg. Avoiding the overpriced and over ambitious menus of many establishments in the area, the Bistro has a restricted menu made up of locally farmed and locally fished products. Dishes are well prepared and sumptuously garnished. Cheeses are procured from what must be the best cheese shop in the area too - the Cremerie Normand round the corner on the rue Michel d'Ornano.
Prices are keen, service courteous and attentive. If there is a nitpick it might be that the wine list would not suffer from the inclusion of a Côtes du Rhône or Languedoc. But this observation is a strained attempt to find a small criticism.
The Bistro opened recently. It's an experience to be savoured rather than as is all too often the case one to be suffered.
