In October, out of season and mid-week, three young men -- I doubt they were more than 21 -- seemed to be running the place and doing a terrific job. All worked in the dining room. One checked me in and another checked me out and then showed me to my room in the second building across the street. Housekeeping staff were concerned about my missing jacket and eager to let me know it was found.

A fine operation. Professional, with just the right touch.

Room Tip: Prices are lower in the older building across the street where I stayed. You'll pay more in the...

Le Commerce belongs to the Logis de France network on independently owned hotels known for their welcome and charm. I arrived on the off chance on a Saturday evening, was informed only one room remained, and on being told of the extremely reasonable price I needed no further encouragement. The restaurant is excellent and in summer is served on the terrace in the adjoining square. A hotel I will not hesitate to use for an overnight stop again the next time I am in the area.

We only stopped one night but the staff were more than helpful, the room was good and very clean perhaps a little overpriced but if you take in to consideration how helpful they were it was fine. Wifi was available but we didn't use it. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the menu looked interesting.

Clean and modern hotel with friendly staff but on the expensive side. A cheaper rate for low season might be an idea?... Plus wifi was not working when we were there...
Can't comment on the restaurant as we dined elsewhere.

Dont be put off by the name! This is a great restaurant right in the middle of this amazing medieval bastide. Super service, good food and reasonable price. It is the only place in town that sells proper ice cream in scoops too and has a lovely outside area in the square. The manager speaks English, but she will be kind about your efforts to speak French. Send the kids off to play on the battlements while you finish your meal.

My husband and friends and I spent 2 nights here during our hike on the Chemin de Compostelle. We were delighted to find clean, modern, attractive rooms and bathrooms. The owners were very welcoming. They arranged to do our laundry and return it that very day. We had dinner outside across from the hotel under umbrellas facing the small square and fortified walls. A lovely setting. It was one of the best meals of our entire trip. In addition the town of Navarrenx is fun to visit. It is a fully walled town on a river. Highly recommend the hotel and the town for a pleasant local stay.
