“Wonderful property, peaceful, spacious and well equipped.”
Reviewed August 26, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We spent a lovely week here with 13 of us (ages from 14 to 85). A great base for exploring the beautiful Dordogne. Well equipped and spacious. The cottage sleeps 8 but has less room for eating en masse and kitchen is downstairs and much smaller. The barn has a huge table and great open plan kitchen on ground level for family meals. The pool was great and not a bad size (although not big enough for lengths!).
There is no garden or fenced off area so would be tricky with very young children, but worked well for us and plenty of space for eating outside.
My only negatives were the directions to the house were not very good, we had a bat in the barn, Beynac is a fifteen minute walk away rather than 5 minute and some is along the main road so not ideal for younger ones, and the flies were a pain!
But overall a fantastic place to stay.

Thanks, Nancy. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We are in the process of revising the directions with our French agency and also agree that our estimation of the walk to Beynac was a bit low, we've revised it to 15 minutes in the description as suggested.

“Fantastic family holiday in stunning Dordogne”

We rented both properties at La Peche last summer, with extended family and friends. The two houses are very different. The barn has spacious and open living space, and a big dining table that was ideal for us all to meet and eat at in the evenings. The cottage (Le Hiboux) is very traditional and has quite steep stairs down to the kitchen. It suited our party very well, with the adults able to escape to the top bedroom with its absolutely stunning views over the Dordogne. The housekeeper and owners were really friendly and helpful, and dealt with a couple of small issues we had during our stay very well. Beynac is in the middle of the fairytale Dordogne region, and we did not have to travel far at all to see the most amazing chateau, beautiful country walks, canoeing, rope climbing... there was something here for everyone and we had one of the best family holidays we've ever had.

Beautiful character filled cottage near a stunning area of the Dordogne river. Canoe down the river and take in the breathtaking views or simply visit the chateaux near by.

“Lovely, well equipped accommodation, set in a beautiful location!”
Reviewed January 21, 2015 for a stay in August 2013

Both cottages are well equipped and situated in a beautiful location with access to a good supermarket. There are plenty of day trips to keep the kids entertained, including canoeing on the river, visiting Beynac Castle, cycling routes and much much more.

“Fabulous holiday, beautiful area”
Reviewed January 18, 2015 for a stay in July 2013

Our family (8 adults, 1 child and 1 baby) spent a perfect fortnight at Le Pech in July 2013.
We stayed in the cottage and converted barn, which were both beautifully restored and gave us lots of room to spread out. Both were very well equipped with everything you need. The rooms were all very comfortable and the large kitchen table in the barn enabled us to have breakfast together and plan the day ahead.

Le Pech is a perfect base to explore the area, situated in a quiet hamlet, but only a short walk into Beynac and a 5 minute car journey to the local supermarket. There is so much to do and see in this beautiful area. Would recommend trips to Le Roque Gageac, Sarlat and Chateau Milande. We also had a great day out canoeing down the river. However, if you fancy a quieter day, there is no need to go anywhere. We had lots of fun dipping in and out of the pool – perfect for us. Table tennis was also popular for family tournaments.

Plenty of space for family BBQs, watching the hot air balloons go overhead.

The owners were really helpful giving us good advice on places to visit and restaurants. Lots of excellent restaurants, which we tended to book ahead as we were a large party.

Would thoroughly recommend Le Pech for a fabulous holiday in the Dordogne.
