One would expect a tourist-trap in the little village of Beynac but this hidden little gem was recommended to us by the owner of a nearby B&B and it didn't disappoint! The cave-like decor was beautiful, the service impeccable and, most importantly, the food (my wife had lamb and I had the duck) was mouth-wateringly delicious. Great value too.

We ate here both nights during our stay in Beynac. We dined in the spacious upstairs dining room one night and in the cozy "cave" dining room the other night. Highlights were the lamb skewers with a unique sauce on the side, which I would love to be able to recreate, asparagus soup, asparagus salad, goat cheese in pastry over greens with a citrus dressing and Dorado. The combination of spices in the food was inventive and quality of ingredients was high.

We dined at this lovely restaurant while staying in the beautiful village of Beynac-et-Cazenac. The restaurant is just as charming as the village and the food was delicious as well. We were greeted warmly by the owner and the service and staff were excellent. I had a smoked salmon starter and a roast lamb main. We thought this was the best restaurant in the village. Excellent!

There was nothing bad about this meal, but it was forgettable enough that I can't recall what I had. except for a layered crepe dessert. The service was good and the owner seemed to be out greeting guests, but the food was more expensive and less impressive than at La Belle Etoile just a few kilometres up the river in La Roque Gageac.

We had lunch here on Wednesday and have no complaints. We had 3 courses, an aperitif, bottle of wine and coffee and it was €130 which we thought was good value. The quality of the food was excellent and the presentation delightful. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. Beynac is touristy but the restaurant had a good mix of tourists and locals.
