Our fourth visit to the hotel, our first since refurbishment and what a difference it makes. The restaurant has not changed much with the choice of food being very limited, and staff levels need to be improved througthout the hotel. On the plus side the limited staff worked hard to ensure that your stay in the hotel was enjoyable and should take credit for their efforts, the new manager needs to be more involved with the clients especially now that it has changed to a couples hotel,a little banter goes a long way.Overall i think that the hotel was far better when it was a thomson gold.

Room Tip: room110 quite with harbour and sea views

Recently refurbished hotel in prime location in Los Gigantes. Rooms are great, we had 110 a corner suite with 2 balconies (a bonus, we simply booked a sea view) one overlooking the ocean and the other the harbour, pristine and comfortable. bars, terraces and pools all as new, re the hotel itself no complaints, it's lovely. However you need to be prepared for canteen-style eating... you have to get everything yourself, queue for tea or coffee (often 5 to 7 people in the queue), make your own toast etc. Ok for many people but not what we would choose. Although we had half board we eat out after the first night. Wifi was only effective within a 50ft radius of the reception desk. But still overall a lovely place to stay and sea view rooms are a must. Average age is fairly high, probably not a young couples hotel.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room.... corner rooms have dual views......

Good hotel, great views. Staff worked hard and tried their best to accommodate all.
Rooms was not cleaned but only just, and cleaning staff were rushing to get rooms done, this I suspect as there did not seem enough of them.
Restaurant staff again tried their best but again not enough of them and then been placed at a table with no cutlery and having to chase staff to get some was not up to 4 star standard. This was mentioned to the head waiter and acted upon.

Overall ,good hotel but service needs to improve.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel twice before and each time we have had a good experience this time was no exception the manager should be proud of his staff as all of them couldn't be better, the bathroom was tired as it missed out during the refurbishment
Moving of the bar meant that if anybody wanted to go to bed early they had a lot of noise to put up with. where the old bar used to be this did not occur.
generally this hotel deserved its four stars.
This hotel is good enough that when you do have to go home you are sad to leave,we will be going back.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view room not to high and enjoy yourselves.

This is our third visit here, and the first one since the major renovations, which seem to have worked very well. I particularly enjoyed being able to eat out on the terrace part of the restaurant. Staff are polite and efficient, although some seem to be demonstrating some dour Scottish ancestry. We had a small electrical problem on our first day which was speedily put right. I think the food is good considering they are serving approximately 400 people in a limited time frame. OK some of the food is kept hot, but at breakfast you can have freshly fried eggs, poached eggs or omelettes, and at dinner steaks or fish cooked to order. and the sweets are first class, with a good cheese board and selection of fresh fruit. Our room was kept clean and we had an excellent view. I think the fridge in the room (not a mini bar) was a stroke of genius. The complimentary bottle of sparkling wine kept very well until we had it on the last day. Go back again most certainly.

Room Tip: Magnificent views from the 8th floor.

A little bit late getting this review done as we have been back in the UK for a few weeks, my wife and I stayed here between the 25th October and the 9th November. We booked despite being a little bit apprehensive from reading some of the reviews before we went but rest assured everything was fine. The views by the pool were awesome, looking out to sea and La Gomera with the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below. The staff were very friendly and Tomas and several of his colleagues in the restaurant were very obliging. The chefs were very cheerful and did everything to keep you well fed well done Tommy. As mentioned in some of the other reviews the lifts are a bit antique and seemed to be under repair quite a few times, they had a mind of their own and it was quite normal to be sandwiched going through the doors into the lift. We had a room on the 5th floor which had a view of the town center and in the distance were the harbour, cliffs and the villas on the hillsides which were more interesting to look at than just looking out to sea especially as we spent most of the day doing that by the pool. All in all we thought it was good value for money and the hotel is very central for easy access into the town. The steep hills and roads could be a bit of a problem if you have difficulty walking or have bad knees.

Room Tip: stay high if you prefer quietness, although the bars and music did seem to shut down by 12pm The in...

Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, in a great location,. Had a sea view room on the 3rd floor, fabulous views and quite a large balcony. Large room, very light, big sliding doors to the balcony, but the bathroom was a bit dated, plastic shower curtain which stuck to you when having a shower.
Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly, but we thought the receptionists quite abrupt at times. Katie was fabulous, seemed to work all hours and always a smile. Well done Katie!!
The resident DUO were very good, nice easy listening, and the lady has a lovely voice. Not sure what the 'Comic Elvis' was all about. But we did enjoy the rest of the entertainment during our stay
The restaurant food was very good with plenty of choice both for breakfast and evening meal. The chef who cooked the eggs and omelettes could do with an assistant, sometimes we had to wait quite a while for our eggs - tip - get your eggs before your bacon otherwise your bacon would be cold.
Also the same at evening buffet, he was cooking both fish and steak to order, which was excellent, but again had to wait quite a long time some evenings. Both Chefs remained very cheerful under a lot of pressure. Management please give them an assistant!!
We saved the visit to the 'special' restaurant for our last night (one visit per stay), and what a disappointment it was. The food was terrible. Quite a few of the guests went to the buffet restaurant afterwards to get a 'proper' meal! Worth a miss!
The food in the pool bar is excellent and very good value (we were half board). The only fault we had was there was no designated smoking area in this bar. We were enjoying a lovely meal when smokers came on the next table and we had to move. The drinks in the hotel are about the same price you would pay in a bar in the UK.
There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops just a few minutes from the hotel, and the marina only 10 minutes walk away.
The beach is not very good, we went prepared to spend the day there but one look and we returned to the hotel pool instead.
Lovely place to stay for a relaxing, quiet break in the sun.
