“Fantastic location for exploring and relaxation”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Idyllic location, very safe and fun for children of all ages. Tennis court and (gated) swimming pool made it a challenge to extract the kids to do anything else. The house is beautiful and well appointed and ideally positioned to explore the area. Highly recommend a visit to Arcachon, Duras markets (day and night versions) and Bergerac, but definitely worth making time to simply chill out and soak up the sunshine with some fine Grand Pierre wines.

“Relaxing in the Dordogne”
Reviewed August 3, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Stayed for 2 glorious weeks in June. The cottage is extremely well equiped with a lovely welcome pack including wine, pâté and cheese....everything one could wish for after a long journey.
2 bedrooms to choose from both with very comfortable king sized beds with beautiful linen, extra single bed in the downstairs bedroom and cot available in the upstairs one.
Very large bathroom with large bath and walk in shower downstairs and another separate toilet was great when our family joined us for a weekend break.
The large swimming pool was a great place to relax with plenty of loungers, shade if needed and and set in a walled garden with views over the sunflower fields. The tennis court has a practise wall too.
The owners, Nick and Jackie were friendly and welcoming and gave us a vineyard tour, and suggested lots of interesting places we could explore and restaurants we could eat in. Good supermarkets in Duras approx 5-10 mins drive.
I would recommend this holiday rental to all age groups from families with young children to older retired people like ourselves. We are definitely going back next year!

“Fantastic French country side holiday home”
Reviewed September 24, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Nick and Jackie were the most hospitable guests, not only did they have wine and local produce ready at the house for us, but they were so helpful with all of the booking and directions upfront. They knew a lot of detail about surrounding areas and the wine made on their vineyard is absolutely divine!

The house was beautifully furnished with lovely linen and towels, it was really large for the four of us and we spent a lot of time sitting out in the front yard on the sun chairs overlooking the grape vines.

If you are looking for a relaxing break with 2 - 6 people, I could not recommend a better spot than here. I look forward to returning next Summer - but with the log fire perhaps even this winter!

“I would go back!”
Reviewed August 28, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Had a fabulous time; good weather, good wine, great house & pool. Jackie & Nick (the owners) were very good company & really helpful. The welcome pack of food & wine was amazing & really welcome after traveling. The location was nice & quiet, loved the pool. Nick gave us the grand tour of the winery & really interesting finding out how the wine was made. Enjoyed visiting Duras, & other local towns too. Broadband kept teenagers happy:)) We really enjoyed our 2 weeks & felt we could be there for longer:)) Hopefully we will be back! The shaw family from Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Liked best: The location on hill, so got a breeze as some days were really hot. The owners were lovely:) the pool & broadband!!
Liked least: Sometimes upstairs room was still hot at night but temperatures had been in mid to high 30degC +, during the day. However generally the house was pretty cool even with the extreme heat.
