“Too expensive, no real beach, but otherwise excellent.”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

The rooms are lovely, beds super comfortable. They are quiet except for when the sprinklers come on early morning.
The restaurant (aqua) was excellent for dinner, less good for breakfast. Service was great except that we had to 'remind' them every evening that our kids ate free (smurfs family package). This was a bit tiresome but they did always take it off the bill.

The tiny beach is too rocky for kids to use and the path down is covered in and stinks of dog poo. There is a pier to jump in from. On the plus side the pools and grounds are lovely.
There are lots of sea views, but the bay is a little dull in comparison to the west coast. The surrounding areas (outside the hotel gates) are very unappealing.

Kids club was good and we always felt the kids were secure and having fun.

Most of the clientele are English or German. Everyone has a blackberry and an iPad.

Reception staff and management were lovely and very professional.

Everything in the hotel from room rates to food prices (buffet 65 euro?) to mini bar prices (small water 6 euro), is too expensive in my opinion, but you can decide that for yourself before booking I guess.

Good afternoon to London,
I appreciate that you took the time to post your comments regarding your recent stay with us and would like to thank you for this!
Please accept my apologies for the daily issue with the bill for your childrens' dinner, I already discussed this matter with the corresponding head of department in order to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
We would all be very pleased to see you again!

We stayed for mini break and would have loved to stay longer. Excellent, personal service tailored to our needs. Superb choice of dining poolside and in the garden. We can't wait to go back next year. The hotel is very close to a marina offering a great choice of bars and restaurants

A wonderful property. A real beauty. Certainly not inexpensive, but you certainly get what you pay for here. From the great infinity pool, to the landscaped garden to the direct access to an almost private beach; not to mention the egyptian inspired spa, the resort is among the finest I have ever had the luxury of enjoying. I was here for 3 nights while traversing Spain and it certainly was a highlight. A great place to recharge, unwind and truly relax. Puerto Portals, a very high end marina, is within 7 minutes walking distance. Palma, is only a 15 minute taxi ride if that. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the spa amenities. You do not need to book a treatment to enjoy the many pools, s...

Had a short break for 4 nights. We booked 2 rooms - one pre-paid and one not. I was a bit surprised to receive an e-mail informing me that they were about to debit my card for the value of the pre-paid room for a second time 2 weeks before we arrived. All sorted by an exchange of e-mails but not great. pre-booking e-mail for one room (not the other) offered a specific upgrade. On replying 30 minutes later was told that it wa not avialble (?). Both rooms were lovely and well appointed. the single room enjoyed lovely car park views - but that is the fate of single travellers almost everywhere it seems.
The hotel was peaceful and the grounds allowed guests to spread without any sense of crowding. The pools were lovely. The spa was generally good but staff variable in their welcome.
We ate in Aqua on a couple of nights. Good food generally but on one night meal timings were out and m fish suffered by being returned to the kitchen whilst the other meals were prepared.
My only serious gripe was that only small bottles of water were left in the rooms and the charges for bottled water in the resprt were very high. I have become used to freely suppied water in hotels in this price bracket in warm climates and it would be worth management considering it here.
Breakfast as others have said was very good with an amazing choice of excellent quality.
The bar was generally expensive and not particularly great in terms of quanity or quality of cocktails - it says someting when a 5 star hotel in London provides better value.

This all sounds a bit negative and the positives outweigh any snags. A bit more attention to detail and a bit more sense of fairness around charges for water and drinks and I wuld give it 5 stars.

Room Tip: Avoid the single rooms...

We attended a wedding here and cannot rate the staff and the service offered highly enough. The food was absolutely 5*, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely grounds with amazing views across the sea. Hotel is between Portals Nous and Palma Nova and only about 15 mins drive to the centre of Palma.

We recently went to a wedding here which was stunning! We were unlucky with the weather but the staff managed to still make the day amazing for the bride and groom. Everything run very smoothly and the food was to die for! Even making me think about getting married here :-)

Having stayed at many St. Regis and 5 STAR hotels, this one does not compare. Upon checkin, my wife and I were asked to sit outside. The check in process was very long and was given a terrible room. It wasnt until we asked to speak with the manager did we receive a better room.
Because of this inconvenience, the assistant Manager Danielle was nice eniugh to invite us for a dinner.

Upon going to the restaurant, we realized it was a buffet without many vegetarian options. My wife and I decided to leave the hotel and go to another restaurant. Prior to us leaving, the staff member from the restaurant so graciously invited us to the michelin rated restaurant for a vegetarian meal. With the hiur being late, we accepted the invitation and truly loved the meal.... Until Danielle, the assistant manager came up to my wife and I and basically made it clear that she was very upset that we ended up in the 5 star restaurant and that we should know that it was not her intention for us to dine there. We offerred to leave but the offer was declined...
My wife felt humiliated and embarressed at being accused by the manager of pulling a fast one. I was never so shocked at the behavior of an upper management of a hotel. Truly not a St Regis caliber even though the food and beverage staff were excellent throughout the trip
