A gracious welcome on our arrival and a perfect table on the terrace set the scene for a memorable evening. A 6-course, 8-course or 10-course degustation menu is offered and we selected the 6-course (130 euros) substituting one dish from the 8-course menu. Each dish was memorable, full of flavour and perfectly presented. The waiting staff deserve a special mention, displaying that mix of professionalism and friendliness which contributes so much to the enjoyment of dining out. We found the sommelier extremely helpful and she selected some excellent local wines by the glass to accompany our meal. We did indulge in the pre-dinner champagne cart which, while expensive, does allow a table for just two people to enjoy a special champagne at an acceptable price. A wonderful evening and we will return very soon!

Competent and attentive very friendly staff, plus the food we expected. It was already full, less one table, and that in low season. We always would like to repeat.

One of the joys of visiting Mallorca is to sample the many excellent restaurants. Es Fum has been voted best restaurant in Mallorca three times. We decided to splash out and treat ourselves to one of the tasting menus on offer. We managed to get a reservation on our final night (our third attempt to book a table there). It is one of our very best meals ever, on a par with Arzak in San Sebastian. We chose the 8 course tasting menu. Every dish was a pure delight. The Austrian chef, Thomas Kahl, is to be congratulated. The sommeliere, Annette Frisch, came up trumps with the Sauvignon Blanc she recommended. All the staff were good, they were not at all pretentious or snooty, they just wanted us to enjoy the food and the service was impeccable. This was one of the memorable evenings of our 51 year marriage. It was expensive, as we knew it would be, but we had a really remarkable and stunning meal

No, this restaurant deserves at least two stars. Having been to all the great restaurants that exist in Mallorca, this beats everyone of them. Of course, perfection comes at a high cost (462 euro plus tip to be precise!). The experience starts when you first enter with all the little details of service covered smoothly. The wife and i had the 6 course meal as we are not the biggest of eaters as you can also have 8 or 10 courses. A good choice of champagne by the glass to start, with a lovely bottle of Baron de L and just relax and let the meal glide past effortlessly. Every member of staff were excellent and can't wait to return when we are next on the island. Congratulations to Thomas and all the staff for creating one of the best restaurants we have ever been to and next time i might even be able to go for the 8 course meal!

Amazing dining experience. Interesting flavours and textures combinations. Food wise, it compares very well with some other one Michelin star restaurants we have been to (I think some of them are overrated in the UK!). it might even have what it takes for a second star, as everything was well executed, appetising, with lots of flavours and on the creative side wihtout falling into molecular cuisine... the decor is beautiful and comfortable, tables well spaced. It might be missing the second star due to the service, very kind and helpful but had a few minor glitches. The wine list could do with more choice for smaller bottles or served by the glass. Also, it is a shame there is no option to have the pairing wines with the menus, there are so many exciting discoveries to make on local and spanish wines! Not a cheap one star Michelin though. One 6 course menu and one 8 course menu plus aperitif, wine and one coffee was 450EUR (and we did not splash on the glass of Krug at more than 40EUR!!)
