“Nice location and much lower price than the Marriott”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

This was a decent value for the area. The marriott next door was twice as expensive. It was clean and adequate all around except for the internet which was spotty in the rooms. It worked fine in the lobby area. The business center was convenient for printing out airline boarding passes. Rrom service was pretty good and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall, nothing outstanding but would stay there again if I was in the area simply because there are no other middle of the road choices. (Mostly not so nice places and a couple of very pricey ones.) Hilton offered a reasonable value option.

It is a nice place and a great view and setting. I would recommend this hotel for business or vacation. the surrounding area and amenities make it a great place to stay. I really enjoyed out time with a fun and engaging staff who go out of there way to make it a nice experience and value for the money.

It was very nice - beach was great, service even better. Close to great shoppes and PGA. The staff went the extra mile - especially the bar staff - bringing drinks to us. Even though hotel had some construction on the pool and the hotel carpet being replaced it was still a very nice stay.

This Hilton is just your average run of the mill hotel that happens to be on the beach. The pool is nothing special and you have to pay for beach chairs. We only stayed here while my husband had meetings in the area, after that we went to Ft Lauderdale, to the Pelican Grande, same price but 10 times better ! We are Hilton Honor members and usually only stay in Hilton properties but this place was disappointing.

The only reason the Hilton Singer Island received 4 out of 5 stars was due to our initial reception at the hotel. Once past the front desk, our experience was 5-star all the way!

My husband and I have traveled to West Palm Beach for the past 7 years for an annual business meeting (we own a small company). We have stayed at The Breakers a few times and also at the Westin in Ft. Lauderdale. While both are very nice, I still wanted to find a better overall fit for us. The location of the Hilton was what first grabbed my attention - only 8 short miles to our meeting site in West Palm Beach and a very easy drive from the airport.

Upon arrival at the Hilton, there was a UPS truck in the entryway unloading several boxes. The other breezeway was blocked by painters. We waited for the valet to come out and after five minutes decided to back up the car and park it ourselves. We hauled our luggage inside and waited a few more moments for the two young ladies behind the counter to finish their discussion and acknowledge us. Once we had their attention, we asked if they had a valet. The one girl pointed over to a kid by the front door and said "Yes, he's right there. Do you need help with your luggage?" We politely explained that we had waited outside for the valet to greet us and that we could not pull up to the entrance due to the UPS truck blocking the way and that we decided to bring our own bags in. By this time the valet just walked away. There was no apology or any additional comment made which was disappointing.

I then got a run around concerning our reservation. We had upgraded our package to an "Oceanview" room which is apparently not the same as an "Oceanfront" room but it's also not what they call a "Partial Oceanview" room. Good Grief! We asked for two beds instead of a King due to my husband's medical condition and was told that there was an extra $10 a night charge but they would waive it for us. My husband then asked if there was a charge for parking and we were informed it was $10 a day (not bad). He asked if he needed a pass to get in and out of the parking lot and mentioned that the gate at the entrance was up when we drove in. The girl said she didn't know. My husband asked again what we were to do if the gate was down and she shrugged her shoulders and said it would most likely just be up all the time. So much for security - why have a gate if you don't use it? At this point, we just took our key and headed up to our room, not thinking very much of the Hilton at all.

That all was about to change once we headed to the Tiki bar for a light snack. On our way, we met Johnny T, who performs at the hotel every Thursday night in a one-man show called "The Voices of Legends" ($45 for Dinner & Show/$20 for Show only). He cordially invited us to the performance and we were so glad we took him up on the offer! The man's voice is heaven to the ears and he really knows how to get the audience happily involved. Thanks, Johnny T for making the magic start at the Hilton.

We spent the rest of our time at the Beach bar and restaurant, when we weren't working. Every one of the service staff out there deserves HUGE Kudos for making us feel so welcome. Starting with Nelly; those warm smile was perfectly matched to her outstanding service during Johnny T's performance to the fabulously friendly Robert who made us WANT to get up in the morning and come down to breakfast, JUST to see him because he treated us like royalty - this Hilton has hospitality nailed in the F&B department. We made so many friends with the other guests at the hotel while Sandra, Sandy and John made sure our drinks were ice cold, the delicious food was pipping hot and our every request was honored quickly- Thanks, guys! And if that wasn't enough service with a smile, every now again Barbie would bounce by with a big grin and a twinkle in her eye. It was obvious that this staff loves their jobs and truly enjoys working with the guests and that's how magical memories are made. Even the housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient (extra towels, light bulbs, etc. were cheerfully delivered to the room in lightening quick speed!).

The beach is lovely and easily accessible and umbrellas/chairs are available for $10 an hour or $30 for the day. The pool was inviting, although the hot tub could use a little scrubbing. They even have a small baby pool. Plenty of seating and tables around the pool too, with decks overlooking the beach. With all of these options, I'm glad we didn't upgrade to the oceanfront room given we spent all of our free time downstairs!

The room itself was very comfortable - the beds are extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows to go around. I typically hate the lighting in hotel bathrooms (too dark) but the Hilton's bathrooms are awesome! The lighting surrounded the entire mirror over the sink area. The shower head is big and the water pressure was strong - Love it! The in-room safe was big enough to put my whole purse inside which was reassuring.

In the end, we have absolutely found the hotel we will visit again during our annual trip to West Palm Beach. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that the front desk experience was a fluke and that next year we'll be greeted with the same magical hospitality that we found everywhere else on the property.

Room Tip: We upgraded our package from a "partial ocean view" to an "ocean view", however...

This will have to be the friendliest Hotel we have ever stayed. Every staff weencountered was engaging. We stayed 2 nights and by the end of our 2 days stay, we have shared personal stories with the Staff. The rooms are beautiful as well as the dining areas and of course, the main attraction, the beach. This was the perfect place to relax, ride the waves and just simply hang out. Palm Beach is next door and we had an opportunity to experience this very nice, high end section of town. I highly recommend this place next time you are in the Palm Beach or Ft. Lauderdale area. It is about 30 minutes to Ft. Lauderdale.

Room Tip: Ask for the ocean view when you make your reservation.
