This wonderful, family-run restaurant was only 10 minutes from our hotel, Il Pellicano, in Porto Ercole. The dining room is quiet and elegant , service is excellent, menu is compact but everything on the menu is prepared to gourmet standards and the plate presentations are impeccable. Pricing is more than fair, portions are generous, wine list is adequate and very reasonable. We liked it so much we rebooked for the next night. La Vivienda does not appear on a lot of the searches for restaurants near Porto Ercole, and that's a shame because it's so good

We noticed this restaurant as we were leaving from our first visit to Monte Argentario. On our second visit, we ate here both nights. The food, wine and service are all exceptional and we had a fantastic experience. We tried starters of fried Anchovy, Octopus and Houmous and main courses of Steak, mixed Calamari, Seabass and Prawns, Baccalat. All were excellent and the suggestions from Daniele for wine to accompany our meal were perfect. We will definitely return on our next visit!

You could easily drive La Vivienda as the location is not the best in Tuscany but I urge you not to! The food is really top class with a menu to surprise and satisfy all. Daniel your host and his wife Julia are very welcoming. They take pride in all they do from the kitchen to the drink to the service which is no frills but straight forward quality.
If I am to select a couple of dishes; the stand out starter is grilled octopus and the main to really savour is the pasta with crumbled sea bass. I love Panacota which didn't disappoint and Tom, my son enjoyed the Chocolate Mousse on more than one occasion! Daniel will recommend a good wine, the Brunello being particularly good. We stayed at Argentario Golf Hotel and Resort but ate here most nights!

Sophisticated food and environment, homemade pasta and jams, friendly staff, excellent wine. An unexpected gem near Orbetello.
