“Fabulous Masia!”
Reviewed July 26, 2015 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed here in July 2013 for two weeks. We were a large group of extended family - 9 adults and 3 children with two extra people for a couple of days. Gill and Chris were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We had a million queries before arrival and every query was greeted with prompt responses and helpfulness.

The Masia itself is fantastic. The gated pool and outdoor seating area/bbq made the holiday. The bedrooms were all spacious and well decorated. I don't need to go room-by-room as it was all great. The only negative comment I can make about the Masia is that there is no proper air-conditioning and when it gets hot, you really needed it.

We were celebrating my Dad's 60th while we were there and Chris and Gill cooked for us the day of the birthday. To say this meal was something we'll all remember forever is an understatement. It was fabulous - they asked us for anything we'd like in particular and a few suggestions were made by the group and everything they came back with was out of this world. If you stay here, you have to get them to cook for you! It made my Dad's birthday something special to remember and we had a truly wonderful evening.

Chris and Gill left a folder with recommendations for the area - we visited a number of restaurants recommended by them and enjoyed them all.

I would highly recommend staying here - I'd love to go back one day!

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this wonderful masia. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We travelled as four couples with six kids - 3 toddlers at 10 months old, a 3 year old, 4 year old and 5 year old. They had everything they could possibly dream of. The pool area was safe and clean and the house itself was vast and had every convenience imaginable including wifi. The kitchen was so well equipped we never ate out thanks to Chris the owner having an impressive catering background. His partner Gill had the pleace decked out with some wonderful art and tapestry. A truly likeable couple. If I could give thios place 6 out of 5 I would. Superb.

“Top Quality with Character”
Reviewed September 15, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

Our extended family of 10 have just spent a most enjoyable week as the guests of Gill and Chris at the Casa D'en Borra. We cannot speak too highly of the warm, friendly welcome they extended when we met up with our son and daughter and their families.

Gill and Chris live very close by and are always on hand to give help and advice on everything including places to visit, local supermarkets and the wide range of facilities available in the villa and surrounding area.

The villa is exceptionally spacious and well appointed with many character features. My wife and I had the downstairs bedroom which was beautifully decorated and had a most unusual tiled ceiling and attractive wall lights and paintings. The other bedrooms were mostly of a size that could accommodate 3 or 4 people with ease.

The swimming pool was voted the No. 1 attraction followed closely by the outside barbeque and eating area. During our stay we barbequed every night as there was a ready supply of kindle and fir cones in the woods near by.

Last year we had a similar holiday in Tuscany which we enjoyed very much. But this one easily surpassed our expectations and beat the Tuscany farmhouse hands down in most respects.

“excellent huge peaceful bolt hole in north spain”
Reviewed July 25, 2011 for a stay in May 2011

we went with friends. great welcome from the owners. huge masia with plenty of space. the cycle tracks nearby provided miles of exercise. the pool was clean and well cared for. the site is isolated and a hire car is essential. the local village restaurants provide good value local cuisine. ask chris and gill for local advice. we drove out to the coast - an easy drive- with tips from the owners on where to stop and eat etc.
we will be going back.

“A perfect weekend”
Reviewed July 16, 2011 for a stay in January 2011

We stayed for a weekend in January to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a surprise my husband organised and I knew nothing about it until we arrived. Over the course of the Friday night more and more friends appeared to surprise me! It really was the perfect weekend- partly because of the surprises and partly due to the house and surroundings. The place is ideal for big groups or extended family as it has great communal spaces in and out. We had a few bbqs during the day and cooked big meals in the gorgeous kitchen at night. We swam in the pool even though it was January! We borrowed bikes from the owners and explored the areas.
The decor in the house is beautiful, maintaining the old character of house but stylish and modern at same time. One day when I am rich and famous, I will buy a house like this and decorate it in just the same way!! It really was my dream house.
Lastly the owners are so lovely. They are friendly, interesting and very welcoming. They live just next door but you never felt they were too close or invading your privacy. Nothing was too much hassle and they seemed happy with anything.
Would highly recommend this villa and in fact I am just waiting for another excuse to come back.
