“Comfortable hotel, wonderful food and easy for the ferry”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

Have stayed at La Glycine many times en route to the ferry. The rooms are a bit "hit or miss" - of varying sizes with unusual decor - but always very clean with excellent showers. The restaurant is great with interesting and delicous dishes that are attractively presented and consistently good. The pear tart with caramel sauce is to die for! The very friendly staff and excellent service makes this a firm favourite.

“Great meal to end holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

We came to the Hotel La Glycine as a last stop before catching the early ferry next morning. We arrived in a torrential thunderstorm and what with the end of the holiday and the weather we were feeling rather low in spirits. The hotel rooms are functional and clean but not very cheering.
However all was made up for by the wonderful evening meal - some of the best food we have ever eaten- it was interesting, full of flavour and well presented. A real foodie's delight!
The starter of a delicious mix of crab and langoustine with a little bowl of shrimp veloute was wonderful. The dessert of a pear tart with lovely light, crisp pastry with warm caramel sauce and light fudgey ice cream was something approaching divine. I would row a boat back from England across the channel just to have that dessert again. The service was friendly and efficient and the charming head waitress is happy to explain anything.
We were not alone in appreciating this very good restaurant as on a Monday evening it was full, and mostly with locals. If you are a foodie this experience is not to be missed, and we will definitely be returning.

“FRENCH CUISINE AT IT'S BEST”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

Whilst filming in the Benouville area for Pegasus Bridge for battlefieldvideo.com i discovered the above restaurant. Admittedly it was expensive yet was very very wothwhile. The food was superb, the wine even better and the service sublime. A great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Highly recommended
