“Classical Bauhaus elegance”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Clean classical forms. Appartments newly renovated very much in style with the orginal architecture and very elegant. Service very friendly. Location is great, a small oasis in the otherwise crummy surrounding of the coast south of Valencia.
Only the contemporary additions at the pool and at the playground were not quite in style and did not quite meet expectations.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel and again a little disappointed with the lack of staff and ambiance. The golf was great as we went with a group of 12 people but decided to eat out in the evening and not in the hotel to get a better feel of the area, Unfortunately our night time sleeping was absolutely ruined by the noise of the machines being used all night to scare the birds away from the rice fields!! The receptionist had little sympathy when we questioned the banging all night! It did spoil my husband's golf the following day as he is a very light sleeper!

Room Tip: There was no room on the seaside available on our special price - if we had known about the noise we...

I have played this stunning golf course twice, once in December & in early September. Yes, it was a while ago but seeing the Spanish Open played there this last weekend brought the memories flooding back. The course looked even better now. We stayed at the Hotel on the December trip, it was great! We combined the golf with a trip to see Valencia play Deportivo.
Not too far from the City if you want a sea side location a really good choice. And if you are really lucky who knows? Valencia were at the hotel & I almost got into the team talk prior to their departure for that evening's game!!
A really welcoming hotel.

Room Tip: definitely get a sea view

All new, clean and modern, good restaurant and spa, great location with beach access and nice walks in la albufera. Not sure if they have any rooms with proper double beds, ours had 2 singles pushed together a 2 separate single duvets, not very comfortable for a couple. If you want a lie in in the morning make sure you request a room a far away as possible from the main lift, we were beside it and the noise of people walking and talking started at 8am on Sunday, probably going to and from breakfast. Note the spa is not free, the WiFi is free and although only in public areas it reached our room probably because we were near reception and the noisy lift - given the choice of wifi vs quiet i would choose quiet... Tea and coffee maker in the room would have been nice.

Absolutely loved this Parador! Very quiet given time of year but not a bad thing as we had the Spa almost to our selves. It is excellent with a wonderful swimming pool.
The hotel is a fairway away from a wonderful sandy beach with the added interest of the beached cargo ship from the previous weeks storms. So much better than most Spanish beaches with fine golden sands. The staff were Ok if a bit snooty but we dont speak Spanish which is just laziness.
Breakfast was excellent in the usual Parador style. We had dinner with Beth and Kurt from Minnesota but neither of us could make our waiter understand our orders if they deviated from the norm. We were joined by a lovely French couple and enjoyed our evening.
The golf course is excellent and the Spanish Open was played over it in 2011. Just a great course in beautiful surroundings.
Close by is the village of El saler with some nice restaurants and tapas bars, and Valencia is close by for a day trip.
Want to go back!

Room Tip: Dont pay the 40 euros extra for the sea view

We stayed for 12 nights here and frankly it is like a little oasis, set about 10 miles south of Valencia in the Albufera area and right on the coast. What's more there is nothing around, so no crowds, noise etc., just unadulterated peace and tranquility, which is what we were after. Plus it has one of the best golf courses in Spain.

Rooms are ample, with views of the golf course, plus the sea if your lucky enough to be on that side of the hotel! However, the rooms are dearer for a sea view. The decor is quite tasteful and slightly minimalistic but lovely warm tones, with dark beige stone floors. Very comfortable beds and pillows..... and I have problems with my back!

The bath is a little different, the walls are all black but there's plenty of lighting. It's just strange that the rest of the bedroom is white...... interior designer must have of thought it was trendy!

Breakfast is a lavish, full buffet affair where you can eat to your heart's content; the selection is vast, to say the least. Even my son, who is a little choosey had an ample selection of food. Lunch is also a full buffet with a huge choice and well worth the Eur34 price. Dinner is a-la-carte with some wonderful paellas, fish, etc. All in all you get a great selection of food and wines at good prices plus decent service.

The Parador has direct access to the beach and basically there is hardly anybody around! That's the beauty of not being surrounded by a host of other hotels. As for the outdoor pool, we used it quite extensively. There are plenty of sun loungers available plus towels at the poolside.

In the evenings we just couldn't be bothered to venture out, since this meant getting in the car and therefore not being able to drink. So we always dined in, sometimes opting for something light at the bar. This has an outdoor terrace area with wonderful views of the golf course, which is a great way to relax at the end of the day.

As for the golf, managed to play on three ocassions and the course was in excellent condition. Also the service at the club house/pro shop was first rate. The course ranks amongst the top 50 in continental Europe and has a training area also - driving range, bunker, putting green and a pitching/chipping area.

All in all we found the Parador to provide an excellent offering of accommodation, food and friendly staff. We shall be definitely going back next year.

Unfortunately, Our check in was delayed for some unclear reason. Once beyond that we really did enjoy our one night stay here. The building is contemporary, set low in the dunes. It has a calm, cool almost retro vibe. This was a weekday in September so it may have been quieter than usual as there were very few kids around. The room was very clean and the bed nice and firm. The stone flooring throughout the property is beautiful. It had a fairly roomy and updated bathroom.

We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was not as attentive as I might expect for the presumed quality of the hotel. At first, the staff seemed a bit stand-offish, but we have struggled with this feeling throughout our trip in Spain. I am sensitive to cultural difference and wanted to think that they did not wish to rush us, but getting a waiter's attention to make any request was a challenge. I suspect that a system in which the staff serve all tables together leaves room for things to fall through the cracks. They also do not depend on tips as waters do in the USA, so there is a question of incentive as well. However, in the hour before dinner we made a connection with one waiter who shares a passion for golf with my husband. The dinner service went much better.

The breakfast buffet was incredible. Golf was disappointing. Greens were VERY wet and needed mowing desperately. Rental clubs were outdated and absurdly expensive. The vistas are beautiful. The beach is lovely. The pool serviceable but unimpressive. Would I go back? I think it falls into the category of a very pleasant stay which I will remember fondly but probably not make a special trip to repeat. For a stopover on a Spanish road trip, it fit the bill quite well.
