Stayed here one night after taking the ferry from Lombok. It is a nice small hostel with some private rooms. Very rustic which is exactly what you are looking for in this beach town. Breakfast was very good, hired staff were exceptional and very friendly. Common area outside and there was a very friendly group there during my stay. There is a longish rocky path just up the street and behind the hostel which leads to one of the most beautiful small beaches - you have to go to this beach. Only here one night. A bit noisy because of the roosters but no complaints. Would stay here again and for two or three nights.

Pros :
- Staff is great and very hard working
- Great location
- Awesome breakfast
- Wifi worked great.

Cons :
- Room wasn't very clean... and wasn't cleaned during our stay.
- We felt ripped off by our boat tickets. Seems as though Ayesha takes quite a cut from booking our tickets. I would recommend going to the dock and buying tickets... also, they forgot to call the company to confirm our reservation until the morning of.
- It's quite noisy because it is close to the ferry port. And dogs bark anytime someone enters the area.
- Private room bathroom window was right next to the kitchen. Hard to get some privacy ;)
- They had a bbq during one of our nights and we felt obligated to go to it and Ayesha seemed angry at guests who didn't attend.

Hello Derek H

First of all, thank you very much for all the nice comments you have given us
and i will keep your cons. definitely into mind , and try to match your expectations for the future and other guests.
I do however feel i need to respond to the boat ticket issue , and i want to assure you that i have certainly not "ripped you off"...
Of course i make some profit in selling the ticket's , why would you sell something in the first place , but it's not a big cut .
The reason why the tickets on the street , are much cheaper then the set price ,
is, because they are selling them " under the table" and overbooking the boats .
This is illegal and more important it's dangerous.
I think it's important that you and other travelers get this information ,
The prices in Padangbai, if you buy them directly from the boat company's are the best prices ...
Definitely better then the prices on the internet .

I do hope you are enjoying the Gili's and are having a nice relaxing time there .
Wish you the best
Kind regards
Ayesha

Nice and clean rooms and a great brekfast. Nevertheless, dogs barking outside your bedroom door at three o'clock in the middle of the night and loud traffick from around six made a good nights sleep difficult. Bring your ear plugs!

We planned to stay 4 nights and ended up staying 12. It was amazing! Beautiful double rooms (we tried all of them because of changing our travel plans), no problems with water, a working aircon if wished. Welcome drinks, the VERY BEST breakfast I have ever had in all the hostels and pensions I have ever stayed, good drinks. A lovely place to meet interesting people and have beautiful conversations. Neither arriving in the middle of the night was a problem (good working airport transfer), nor changing our travel plans quite frequently. The owner Ayesha and her lovely team were always very helpful, offering help in every single situation. Hospitality to the highest standards! The beach was beautiful, not many tourist, white sand, lovely food and coconuts. Try the massages, they are awesome. We wanted stay forever and we will surely return :)

It is amazing the hospitality and the helpfullness to see & experience as much of bali as possible! Helping you with local prices, with daytrips, with good tips of what to see. All this with a refreshing openness of the owner Ayeesha.

We really advise you to take the banana pancake with chocolate as a breakfast!

It is just ideal for a staging point to explore East Bali & the Gili's. We went to the gili's and returned the day after. Our baggs could stay over there so we could travel light. GREAT!
