“Bloo Lagoon a wonderful stay”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We were upgraded to a view of the bay that was absolutely wonderful,This resort is located near some of the best snorkeling around and you can rent a boat at the bottom of the hill to go out(negotiate) The resort itself has a nice dining deck and a great pool that we found very comfortable and quiet. The food was great and breakfast was included .Padangbai is where you catch the ferry to Lombock and the Gillies, but do yourself a favour and spend at least one night at the Bloo Lagoon . If you are into beaches don't go to the one below the resort ,get their shuttle bus to take you to white sand beach on the other side of the village .It is a bit of a climb and walk but well worth the visit and their are friendly people and food is available I We highly recommennd the Bloo Lagoon resort

My partner and I stayed here recently and had such a lovely time. The rooms are basic but well designed and the view was spectacular. Also so nice to not have a tv in the room we were forced to have proper interaction. A lovely pool especially at night when the stars light up the sky.
The town is very friendly with a beautiful white sand beach that the locals will show you where to go, crystal clear waters and great snorkelling.
The food was fantastic, we came just shortly after the new australian chef had changed the menu and owning a couple of restaurants myself in the UK I was very impressed. The dishes were fresh, tasty, well presented and very affordable, Tim (the chef) even had time out of his busy schedule creating tasty delights to escort us down the road and help us save 100 quid bartering for a boat trip to lombok (thanks Tim!!).
Our only qualm was the service all around. From housekeeping to the front desk it all seemed a little unorganised. This is somewhat the trend in bali and we don't mind being left to our own devices and don't need 24 hour pampering but a little extra attention goes a long way, I'm sure this is something that is recognised in the resort also.
There is also a beautiful garden growing produce for the restaurant which is such a great idea as well.
So all around very happy and we will definitely be back next time around!

After having traveled to Bali so many times, we finally decided to explore new beach that we had never been to. Padangbai was the choice. Thanks to TripAdvisor, we found Bloo Lagoon...

We stayed there one night, in our way to Candi Dasa, during the Chinese New Year holiday.

Thanks to Toni and Marita, we joined other group of guests enjoying the Chinese New Year set menu dinner. We sat in the long table together with around twelve people, a mix of guests from Bristol, San Francisco, etc. All wanted to stay in Padangbai for the atmosphere, weather, scenery, calmness - far from the busy beaches..

Three dishes of Chinese dishes; prawn with pok choi (green vegetable) and cashew nuts, red snapper with mushroom, pok choi with minced meat. Good way to end the evening by having fresh dessert; rambutan (tropical fruit) mixed with green tea ice cream with mint and sesame.

Room is clean and spacious with very reasonable price. It's really a typical tropical bungalow. Very nice!

Bloo lagon was a wonderful find, friendly staff, outstanding houses, fantastic pool. Food was very good and very reasonably priced. If your traveling with a toddler the pool is great but the rooms aren't kid safe, it wasn't a problem but someone had to watch our 2year old all the time, that said I would return in.a heartbeat.

I would recommend this villa community to anyone looking for quiet, out of the way and environmentally conscious accommodation.
Top 3 things I enjoyed about the Bloo Lagoon:
1. Stunning views of the bay and mountains
2. Integration of the villa within the natural surroundings (similar to tent but without the roughing it)
3. Option to prepare my own meals in the well-equipped villa kitchen or enjoy the healthy food from their open kitchen restaurant.

Just a couple of things for improvement:
1. Spa seemed to be in a state of "renewal" but my massage was good.
2. Restaurant serving staff were building their skills.

The snorkelling nearby was excellent and the staff were very helpful in organising transportation and outings.
Great way to end my Bali adventure!

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending two weeks at Bloo Lagoon. It is such a beautiful property with each house having its own unique character.we would generally start our day with a swim in the pool which was delightful. After a warm day at the beach the outdoor shower was so refreshing.
It has a really nice restaurant so you can eat outside and look over the water and stunning views of Mt. Agung.
Every member of the staff was friendly, happy and most helpful.
We will be back!!!!

My husband and I stayed two nights at Bloo Lagoon in January 2013. The room was awesome - spectacular views, comfortable and clean. It was nice having a kitchen too, which would be perfect for a longer stay. The rest of the Bloo facilities were good, but not up to a luxury resort standard, in my opinion. When we were there they had power issues in the restaurant, with music and lights not working one evening. The restaurant is more like a very casual cafe, though the food was good.
The service was OK too, but again, not up to the standards of a high-end property. We had to specifically ask for the special package that was being offered on the Bloo website, and the staff member we were talking to wasn't at all familiar with the offer. The service in the cafe was also pretty spotty - more than once we had to ask twice for certain menu items.
The cleaning staff, however, was great and very efficient. Everyone was reasonably nice and friendly.
Overall, I would recommend the Bloo Lagoon, but just don't expect western high-end standards.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Since your last visit, an Australian chef has joined us and he is now managing our restaurant. Our guests will, no doubt, be pleased with his addition to our team.
Our goal at Bloo Lagoon is to create a friendly and relaxed environment where all participants contribute to have the best experience. Of course we will continue to improve as we grow and comments like yours definitely help us.
