Visited twice during our stay in the area. Afternoon tea stop OK but the apple pie far cry from write up on menu! Made more so as sighted boxes of sliced apples rather than stated ones from the orchard! Also spray cream rather than real. Following day breakfast visit. Food OK but service unspeaking but efficient compared with gushing platitudes of previous day. In value terms over priced compared with Blackheath but acknowledge tad remote. The owners have a great location and need to capitalise upon the home theme and give better value. Visitors may be one offs and repeat business unlikely but reviews will influence future business. Tighten up the act and really be in better harmony with a unique and very special valley, one we loved free from the normal tourist trails of he Blue. Mountains

I felt as it I was on a film set, sitting under the trees looking out on the beautiful peaceful valley. We might have been miles from civilisation, yet it's only a short drive from Blackheath. The tea and scones were delicious - with a big bowl of homemade jam, another big bowl of whipped cream. Heaven! I'd say no visit to The Blue Mountains is complete without a trip to the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms.

We have visited twice and have enjoyed the Traditional and Mediterranean Ploughman's lunch both times. Lots of lovely choices and a delicious variety. The setting is serene and very Australian, a great choice for an international visitor. Even on the hottest day the tables under the trees are nice and shady, the views inspiring.

I would rate this interesting and delighfully rustic spot as good, rather than average. We dropped in whilst out on an afternoon drive through the spectacular Megalong Valey and pulled up for what was a very pleasant Devonshire cream tea.

The only drawback was the service which was slow and initially unfriendly, but after a lengthy wait another younger lady arrived with the perfect afternoon tea/scones/jam and cream and she could not have been more helpful.

Maybe they had had a bad day, but otherwise no complaints.
