“Wish I'd booked 2 weeks!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

I stayed here for a week August last year with my pre-teen children. I will have to point out a couple of faults first. The hotel was described in the brochure as having satellite tv with English channels but this is not the case, the only one is BBC World news. This is not the fault of the hotel, however, so I haven't rated the hotel down for this. The room has a fridge in the kitchen but no kettle or anything.
The food was brilliant I couldn't fault it. I am also a vegetarian and quite fussy. My kids are not vegetarian but one of them is extremely fussy and she was happy with the food. There were always plenty of tables available. Think I put half a stone on haha.
By the pool snacks were served between meals of hotdogs, burgers and toasties. Also the all inclusive wine is excellent. I have been on all inclusive holidays before where they try to make you walk all round the complex to the far corner to get the stuff you have pre-paid for in an attempt to make you buy from a closer and more convenient bar; non of that with this hotel! All upfront and no scams to get you to spend money.
The pool and surrounding areas was cleaned very thoroughly each morning as I saw from my balcony. There is a rule about not reserving sunbeds but no one follows it. I have to admit I didn't follow it either and as I am an early riser after the pool had been cleaned I would go down and put towels down, but everyone was at it. Any towels left on sunbeds in the evening are removed by the hotel staff incase people are attempting to reserve for the following day and also so the sunbeds can be washed down.
The water park was free entry by showing your all inclusive wrist band and while people were lining up to pay, you could just jump the que and walk past. It is right outside the hotel. There was a small charge for the cushions that go on the sunbeds and parasols. There were all inclusive drinks available at the water park but no food or alcoholic drinks. There were plenty of lifeguards on every water slide regulating when the next person could go down the slide and promptly blowing whistles at anyone doing anything that looked dangerous. Only bad point is that it is salt water so some goggles might be needed if it irritates your eyes. Get to the waterpark handy if you want a sunbed as it gets filled up quickly with local Spaniards on days out. There is a great atmosphere there with music playing and don omar's 'danza kuduro' being the 'theme' tune, but we never got tired of it as everyone was up and dancing to the reps doing the routine on the stage inside the water park.
I can't comment too much on the evening entertainment as I only went a couple of times. Found it to be good with 'kids cocktails' being on the menu along with ordinary cocktails, all part of the all inclusive. A bit of a shortage of chairs and tables but not too bad like other reviews are making out. Me and the kids played mini golf and were generally happy. I plan to go back for 2 weeks next time instead of 1.

We have just returned home from Gran Canaria where we stayed at the Paradise Lago in Taurito. We are a family of five, 2 adults and three children aged 10, 9, and 8 and had mixed opinions about the hotel due to the varying reviews it has recieved.
The resort and entrance to the hotel was clean and tidy and staff were friendly. There are several shops in the resort as well as a doctors, a chemist and a car hire shop and to be honest you dont need to leave the resort as everything is on site. The waterpark on site is large and although you have to pay for sun loungers here there were always enough to go round. The only downside to the waterpark is that it is salt water so after several hours our eyes were stinging and kids were complaining that the water didnt taste very nice.
The hotel itself was kept clean and tidy and all the staff we came acrooss were friendly and polite. We had a room on the 3rd floor just above the hotel pool with stunning views of the resort and waterpark. Our family room was a little dated and tired in parts but was kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping team with fresh towels provided every day (apart from Sunday) and to be honest for the amount of time we spent in the room it was perfectly adequate and well equiped for us. The only problem we found with our family room was that there was a severe lack of storage as there was only one small wardrobe for the five of us to share and we ended up living out of our suitcases for 11 nights which meant our clothes became creased and we had to hire an iron .
The resteraunt was kept clean and tidy and there was always plenty of food no matter what time we went down for our meals. Meat was freshly cooked on a griddle each meal time and there was plenty of pasta dishes as well as the usual pizza and chips, even the fussiest of my children managed to find something she liked to eat each meal time. Towards the end of the holiday the food did become a little repetitive but i imagine its hard to cater for such a variety of nationalities and there tastes and people seem to forget this when they are complaining ! When the resteraunt was closed the poolside bar served snacks - burgers, hot dogs and toasties and these were all freshly cooked to order.
The annimation team were fantastic and loved by all the children, and towards the end of the holiday all the kids had learnt all the dance moves to the songs, although for the parents the mini disco on an evening did become a little repetitive and tedious !
Puerto Rico and Puerto De Mogan are both a fifeteen minute bus ride away for those who want to explore Gran Canaria. Both resorts offer a variety of boat trips and excursions with a weekly market held on a Friday at Mogan. Amadores beach is also five minutes away and probably the best beach near by as it is man made and not black sand like in the resort of Taurito.
Overall you have to remember Paradise Lago is a family hotel therefore if you want a more lively type of holiday then this hotel is not for you. My children and i loved the hotel and resort and would not hesitate in booking up again for next year , please visit the hotel with an open mind hope this helps x

''I LOVED IT'' this is the one and only hotel that i have been to and remembered well i will never forge t and will soon visit again. In the morning the breakfast was all optional and you just went up to get the food you wanted yourself. There was fry ups very fresh bread different selections of cereals and much more. The lunch was brilliant every lunch they had different meat they had the grill in one section a Thaifood area all sorts. During the day the pool was open from as early as you up until evening (you are not meant to swim at nights but loads of people did) During the day there was lots of activities and a kids club. I didn't like the salt water in the waterpark but the other pools were Chlorine so a bit better. The enertainment was absolutely brilliant in a night the arena plaza in the hotel. One of my favourite people who work there is Loyda so watch out for her if you go
THANKS FOR READING!!!!!!

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the bottom floor because there alot bigger and they have a sink and a washing...

Spent 2 weeks at paradise lago taurito from 16 June 2013, Hotel was clean and tidy rooms cleaned daily Mon-Sat,quiet location 7euro in a taxi to mogan or 15euro to puerto rico, you cannot walk as you are in a cove surrounded by a road.

The pool is far too small for the amount of guests it caters for and sunbeds are reserved with towels from very early, I think the idea is so you use the water park across the road which is good however you need to pay 2 Euro for a sun bed and the bar you can only get soft drinks or beer no spirits. also it is salt water.

Food is poor however im sure it will be good to some people down to preference i suppose and if you dont like it you have no choices their is no where else to go and eat.

Their are lots of things to do if you want to pay extra tennis, mini golf, squash, trampolines, arcades etc but not much to do all inclusive, plenty of other costs if you want iron kettle etc in room.

They play bingo twice a week and the prizes are for the hotel spa? strange most places just split the takings its all about money. entertainment is boring and you get a grease show once a week the staff do try hard however very dull shows.

Be aware if you want a seat at entertainment area arrive early as there is no where near enough seats as it caters for various hotels also there is only 1 toilet nightmare!!!!

if you can get a cheap deal go for a week as its nice and relaxing however dont pay over the odds as you will be left feeling ripped off!!!

Room Tip: go elsewhere!!!!

Me and my partner (22 and 26) stayed at this resort from 10th June for 10 nights!
When we got off the plane it was very cloudy and windy and i was worrying that this was the weather for the 10 nights we were there ! lol Unfortunately, we were literally the last 2 people on the coach as a last drop off so the journey from the airport to the hotel was very long!

However, when we finally arrived at Paradise Lago Taurito we were pleasantly surprised! What lovely views and scenery! The sun was shining the heat was lovely. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful! Very clean and pretty! We took a tour around the complex, went on the beach as its right there and the water park. Our room was on the 5th floor, lovely views and very clean. Perfect as your not hardly in the room anyway but, all the rooms face the same views anyway but the higher the better.

The food was what you expect from an all inclusive but never the less, still very nice. Always cooking a different meat infront of you, pizzas salad pastas etc. Its ok if your a simple eater like me, pizza pasta salad and potatoes lol.

Puerto Rico and Mogan are 15 minutes either side of this hotel and we took the bus down there in the mornings to have a look round. Bus was 1 euro 40 each there and then the same back. They both have plenty of restaurants and shops and also beaches. Puerto Rico has a Mcdonalds and subway! I thought i had got my boyfriend away from this for 10 days but no! lol We went to a market a couple of times, they were ok if u like all the little bits and bobs. We never done any excursions as we ended up treating ourselves with all the nice things in some of the shops but there are lots of things to do!!

The evening entertainment wasn't the best but very good for children. Don't get me wrong, a couple of nights they got the audience involved and it was really entertaining but it all finished at half 10 and then the disco opened till 2 in the morning which we never tried out but it was quiet nice to go up to the room and sit on the balcony and just chill.

It caters very much for children and families but there were many couples there too and, with puerto rico and mogan not far away, you can easily get a bus down there for their nightlife.

We sunbathed mainly in the water park as it had much more space although it wasn't hard to get sunbeds over here as it wasn't peak time ( the hotel pool sunbeds were all taken early in the morning though as some people have already mentioned. ) but the pool was massive so you could enjoy dipping in and not being in the way of other people. However you have to pay 2 euros per bed but, we found that going in there after 3pm some days, we didn't have to pay as it closed at 6.

All in all we had a lovely time here and i would definitely stay here again. The holiday is what you make it to be honest!! The staff were pleasant enough too!

Returned home on 2nd july after spending 11 nights at this hotel and I can honestly say I won't be returning and won't be recommending it to anyone. There was 7 of us in total 2 adults and 5 children aged 20, 18, 15, 5 & 3.
Food = Breakfast time was okay you could have cereals, full cooked breakfast, toast, selections of meats and cheeses it was generally okay and warm. They only have 3 toasters which are the slowest ever so be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes for your toast. Lunch = If your a lover of paella then your sorted that was the dish of the day everyday. You could have pizza, spaghetti, chips, salad, selection of fish which all had bones in, selection of meat which was full of fat no good at all some days we skipped lunch and just had snacks by the pool. Dinner = basically all the left overs from lunch mixed in to make a new dish and warmed up chips. There is also a section for the kiddies where they sit and have there own food bar that was the same screenshot chips, pasta, pasta sauce, veg and cold fish.
Entertainment= Really don't know where to start on this. Seating area is a joke 3 hotels share the same entertainment not enough chairs for 1 hotel nevermind 3 to get a seat you have to be there before 8:00pm and after that you get people just sitting down on your table without even asking if everyone is sitting there really annoyed me people are just so rude. Mini disco for the kids at 8 everynight follwered by the daily awards then the cheesy shows if it involves singing they are all miming and if it involves talking its done in every language english last every time. Only one bar and you can only ever get 2 drinks at a drink which most times they got it wrong. There is a disco which opens at 11 if they get busier enough where you have to pay for drinks.
Pool area = the pool its self is not big enough for this hotel one day I counted 200 people in it nobody could move also NO LIFEGUARD simply not good enough. Pool area very slippery, toilets no clean water to wash hands and the beds are on top of each other. Snacks was okay burger, hotdog or a toasties. The barman is the rudest person ever exchanged a few words with him a number of times !!!.
Waterpark = this was okay for a free waterpark very busy on sat/sun the young ones can only go on a few slides.
Beach = very clean black sand beach.
Staff = All rude unless your spanish they don't have time for you.
Rooms = Cleaned everyday very impressed with the maids rooms was fairly big but no kettle.
Security = None what so ever had a couple of run ins with management over people been in the pool til 4 in the morning shouting and swearing we don't have no security so there is nothing we can do.
Overall = Big disappointment over this holiday don't waste your money thomas cook will be receiving a complaint in writing within the next few days
