As a family of 6 (3 adults 1 Teenager and two children) the holiday was all inclusive, we had two family rooms.
Each room consisted of one bedroom (twin beds hard matresses), bathroom and large lounge/kitchen (microwave but no other equipment) you might think kitchen equipment would not have be required as all inclusive)(read on) area with sofa large enough to sleep on, Large patio area with Table and chairs. Rooms very basic and could do with upgrading.
The rooms were cleaned to a good standard daily and towels and bed linen change regularly.
The Aquapark within the complex was amazing and kept everyone amused daily. The pool at the hotel was also of a reasonable size. plenty of sunbeds ans parasols. unfortunatly we witnessed people putting there towels out from 6am (shame on you).
The reception staff were at all times very helpful. Check in was a very slow process as only on member of staff at the desk at all times.
The food was good for the first 4 days then GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED, it was dreadful for the rest of our stay. This is when we started trying to cook food in our rooms, we had to go and buy plates cutlery, cups etc. We all lost weight not a bad thing but I lost almost a stone in 2 weeks. There are no other returants in the area that we could go to without getting buses or taxis.
Please note: No pool towels provided, they could be hired but expensive. Other things that could be hired at a cost Hair Dryer, Kettle, Iron, Safe. If you want to watch tv I hope you speak other languges as there is only one english speaking channel and that is the news. As it was almost all english people staying when we were there.NOT GOOD. Plenty of channels but not english.
The daily animation team worked hard during the day and evening. All evening entertainment was just outside the hotel. Lots of seating and excellent shows the all inclusive drinks were also available at this venue very usefull, as I beleave in the past you had to walk back to the hotel to get them.
The suppermarket was well stocked but VERY expensive indeed. It is worth catching the bus into Morgan there is a large Spar supermarket just near the bus stop. still expensive but better value.
There are a good variety of small shops around the hotel selling gifts, inflatables, some clothes and shoes.
The small beech is black sand. watch out as there are some very strong tidal current in the sea here NO WARNING SIGNS ON THE BEACH.
We did have a good holiday but do not think we would return to this Hotel maybe would try another of the Hotels in the area

I travelled and stayed from 12th Sept 2011 to the 19th, With my girls 6 & 8 and my Fiance. Our flight was delayed 2hrs (Ryan air useless) and we arrived late and the hotel had laid on a buffet for us which was a good start.
The room was clean, good size, a little dated and could do with modernising but dont let that put you off.You wont be in it much.
Food is amazing, well cooked and plentyful, my girls are fussy as hell when it comes to food and they had plate fulls breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and drinks at the pool bar all day (except when restaurants are opoen) local alcoholic drinks and soft drinks all good.

Water park is good could do with some maintenance but v clean. Only negative is the salt water but that isnt an issue as such. Beach is clean and really nice. Dont use the shops they are pricey and for a 5 euro bus or taxi you can be in Puerto Rico or Mogan where youl get all your nik naks vastly cheaper.
Animation team are great and work hard to include everyone from morning to night. Staff at the hotel are lovely especially Anwar the bar man. The pools great the girls got on with all the other kids there.

The hotel is a 3 star so if the agents try to tell you different ignore them oh and they all have sea views so dont opt for the upgrade it doesnt exist. The other hotels in the complex (theres 5 in total and 4 of them are 4 star) and if you report anything wrong they get on it pronto.

Ive read all the bad reviews and cannot figure out what there on about. Taurito is a great place for families couples and groups of friends. I for one will return but will try one of the other hotels and fly with another carrier. Im very picky about my hols as its the only quality time i get to relax and ive returned home relaxed, tanned and rejuvinated.

Myself and my family stayed at Lago Taurito from 26 May-1st of June 2011 and we had a fabulous time. We went all inclusive and there were so many choices that in the end we started to skip meals as we were to full all the time. My two boys (3 and 9) had no troubles choosing what they wanted to eat as there was so much on offer at all times. For dinner my little one asked for cereals a few times and this was no bother for staff. They were fantastic. There was fresly prepared pizza every day and this was lovely. Also there was freshly cooked meat every main meal and I did not expect the whole experience to be so good.

In the day there were plenty of organised activities for the children to do. One day my older son did scuba-diving in the pool, another day he done darts and in the evening there was live entretainment. Well done to all the reps. They work hard to ensure everybody is having a good time.

The beach is 50 m away and we had a lovely view of this from our hotel room. The gardens and water park outside this hotel is fabulous and if you got kids, this is the place to go as you have free entry to it. Some of the near by hotels have to pay to get in. I would describe the whole experience as a true paradise for us. The apartment - well, don't expect top of the range, but it is big with a big terase, confortable, cleaned every day and towels refreshed daily as well. For us was more that we expected.

Before we came back, my little son got bitten by a mosquito to which he is badly alergic. Staff could not be more supportive and alowed us to keep the room until late afternoon when our transfer to aerport was due. For this I can not thank enough to staff on duty and ROSE - one of the managers. I highly recomend this hotel and I would love to go back there in the near future. Actually that's what I was just looking for, to book a new holiday.

Mrs Parker, England.

Room Tip: The higher you are, the greater the view.

We stayed here for our main 2 week family holiday in August.
Good Points - By far the best part about this hotel is the free water park right outside. The kids loved it. It could do with a bit of re-vamp though as it was a bit dirty and many tiles need replacing as they were missing or broken. Food- Good selection of food however we found that it was either under cooked (meat was often raw!) or over cooked (veg were mushy). But overall they tried hard with a lot of choice.
Bad Points - Entertainment! although the staff were lovely and tried really hard it was a bit rubbish really. Very much duplicated (had exactly the same music quiz twice in a week!) Why don't they get professional singers / dancers etc in to entertain the people who were there from the 4 hotels in the resort?? We had a hire car which we would very much recommend and got out and about alot.
Noise - there is a lot of noise from the main 'arena plaza' square of which all the hotel rooms overlook. But it does go quiet around 11pm but if you have young children like ourselves it was not very peaceful until this time.
Hotel pool - always overcrowded - we only actually got a sunbed the once! as all the beds were reserved by towels at around 8am everyday. The hotel could do with doing something about this rather selfish behaviour we thought.
Cleanliness - although the cleaner came to our room every day and put in clean towels that was all she did. The room was never swept and there was a nasty stain in the communal hallway (floor 5) that was still there after 2 weeks at this hotel! The main entrance area however did appear to be kept clean. In the restaurant we found the staff were keen to clear away your plates (even when you hadn't finished eating!!) but the tables could have done with a good wipe down and were a bit grubby most of the time.
Resort - there is nothing at all to do on an evening other that the entertainment area. No bars to go to / nowhere to have a walk. We found it claustrophobic after 2 weeks here.
Overall - it was great for the water park but we would say use it for a short holiday only (1 week max) but we wouldn't return as it seemed rather run down and in need of some refurbishment. I am surprised by some of the gushing previous reviews if I am honest. It was okay but not that great.
