Have just returned from 9 night stay here. Lovely hotel, great food, beautiful accommodation and helpful, friendly efficient staff. We had upgraded our suite to Premium and were absolutely delighted with the accommodation, especially the magnificent view from the balcony and the lovely beautifully furnished sitting room. Loved hotel being adults only. Plenty of loungers available around pool area. Excellent food, with plentiful choices and something for everyone. We didn't use the a la carte restaurant. Entertainment was of excellent quality. There was a wonderful pianist in the Piano Bar and an excellent guitar duo. Entertainment provided by Thomson was much better than usual. The style and decor of the hotel was beautiful and an unusual feature was a magnificent hanging garden. There was a particularly lively bow window in the floor to ceiling feature on the reception floor, along with a lively chandelier. The hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained. We would highly recommend a holiday at the Suite Princess, (well worth upgrading to a Premium suite) and hope to return.

Room Tip: Second floor, to the left of the main elevators. Quieter and with better views.

My husband and i stayed for 10 days at the end of november. We havent stayed here before but it was a very enjojable break. Food was very good, too good in fact judging by the weight we both gained ! drinks better than other all inclusives we have stayed in, cabaret was a bit poor, but it isnt Las Vegas after all. We would definately stay again, the only thing that spoilt it was the flight home, we were delayed because the plane before us had a technichal problem, to cut along story short after sitting on the tarmac for 2 and a half hours, the problem wasnt going to be resolved , and the airline decided to distribute those passengers between the 4 other aircraft waiting. An hour into the flight we were told they had fixed the fault and the plane was now following us ! A group of trained chimps could have organised things better.

My wife and I stayed for 10 days at the beginning of July. At the time of our return did not have the opportunity to write a review. As time passed it seemed pointless as later reviewers were staying at a different hotel than us.
Having read through the latest reviews had to give my negative review. I agree wtih the majority of the bad comments and disagree with the "over the top" reviews of for what is only a 3/4 star hotel.
Sunbeds - right on top of each other - no escape from smokers. (should have a designated smoking area)
Restaurant - like dining in a works canteen. Tables on top of each other - no privacy when dining. Air conditioning not working fully - resulting in one wishing to finish meal as quickly as possible. Double standard on dress code - long trousers for men - ladies alowed in skin tight short shorts and skimpy tops.
Rooms - Upgraded on booking to Royal Suite - no differenf from Junior superior. Rooms tired looking - furniture needs replacing.
Entertainment - after 10 days of same routine from Nico in the piano bar and Lone Pepper Duo it all becomes abit monotonous and boring. The tribute acts - it is obvious why they are doing the rounds of hotels in the canaires. They seem entertaining after an evening of free drinks before the shows but would you pay to go to see them???
Previously this hotel was used as a family resort. Thomson wishing to cash in on the growing popularity of couples only have relabelled this hotel as "Couples only". The hotel is located next to a water park with intrusive loud disco music with a manic DJ from mid morning to late afternoon does not lead to a quiet relaxing time by the overcrowded pool.
Would I go back - no. Would I upgrade - no. There is not enough difference between cheap wine on tap (who drinks wine on tap) and the bottled which you get on an upgrade. Although advertise premier drinks - lack of. No decent brandy, JD or Jim Bean
I know the majority will not agree with my comments - I had to put some negative points for a balanced review.
On a positive note - must mention the Thomson reps - they were excellent.

We have just returned from this lovely hotel and struggle to see what anyone could find fault in it. We arrived the early hours of the morning after a rather long transfer. Check in was quick and was quickly shown our room which we were well impressed with as it was very large with a big double bed instead of the usual to singles pushed together. We were offered a bite to eat in the restaurant with self service drinks which was needed after the journey.

Food at the hotel was very good with a good selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You could in fact eat all day between 7.30 till the evening meal as there was always snacks available in the poolside restaurant then cakes in the afternoon. We also ate in the romantic restaurant one evening which was a set five course dinner portions were small but it was very tasty and well presented I would recommend trying this.

Pools were good one was heated and one wasn't there was a good aqua gym session held three times a week in the warmer one. Sun beds are fairly close together but at least there are enough to go round so no need to get up at a silly time.

The entertainment in the hotel was very good we saw some good shows such as the three tenors, Lionel Richie, a circus type of act and the drifters tribute act. In the other bars there was either the guitar duo who were excellent and a pianist so something for everyone. The cocktails were good and were strong so not many was needed before you felt a little bit tipsy. We did not upgrade but felt the quality of the drinks were fine as we are not big drinkers.

Our room was on the 5th room which looked out over the pool and beach and it had some wonderful sunsets. Up grading doesn't mean you will get a higher room or better room as the day we left they were putting sunbeds on our balcony.

I would return to this hotel and highly recommend it for couples wanting total relaxation.

We stayed here last week in November, a group of 5 people. A very nice reception offering a glass of cava or juice on arrival. Our rooms were on the 8th floor and both were great. Very spacious and clean with sunbeds on the balcony. The view is fantastic overlooking the beach and lovely to hear the sea so close. There are plenty of sunbeds and beach towels already in the room on arrival. Although we didn't make the welcome meeting there was a Thomson room where you could visit the rep and also a board outside giving information about various trips and flight information. The staff were very friendly and chatty and need to mention Juan-Arcadio the animacion manager who was lovely, always smiling and chatty and had remembered all our groups name after a couple of days, which was a nice touch when you saw him again. The daily activities were good and a nice way of meeting and talking to other guests. The food was good always found something I liked and staff very efficient at refilling and always clearing away. We would definitely recommend this hotel and are already looking at booking for next year.

Room Tip: all rooms have great view but would recommend a high floor.

We stayed at this hotel with two friends in late November and had a very relaxing time. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Juan the Entertainments Manager. Our room, on the 7th floor, was very large and quiet with a fantastic view over the beach. The sunsets were amazing!
Sunbeds could be a bit further apart in places but that is a minor thing and at least there were enough to go round.
The food was very good with plenty of choice. The entertainment, on the whole, was very good too although a couple of the acts were not as good as the rest.

My only complaint during the holiday was the attitude of the manager following a serious accident that my husband had on our first day at the hotel. He slipped on the wet marble floor of the toilet next to the swimming pool and received a very nasty cut to the crown of his head requiring 13 stitches from a local doctor together with a trip to the hospital in San Agustin for neurological checks. The was no mat on the floor and no signs warning of the wet floor, unlike other areas of the hotel where the floor could become wet. I cannot fault the help we received from Juan, Massimo and the Thomson Reps. Considering the seriousness of the accident we assumed the manager of the hotel would contact us to check up on the patient but we eventually had to request a meeting with him as we felt he should be made aware of what had happened, particularly as it was due to a lack of care by the hotel. He told us that he had been at the hotel for 14 years and never had a similar accident; in fact he said that he hadn't even been aware of the toilet in which the accident occurred. However, following our talk with him, a rubber mat appeared at the base of the steps into the toilet area! Several of the general staff made every effort to regularly check up on my husband's recovery but not the overall manager.
However, despite all of this, we would certainly return to this hotel again as it is in a quiet location with a nearby beach where it is safe to swim.

Room Tip: Like other reviews I would agree that the higher floors are the better ones with the numbers around...

We booked this hotel as it was an adult only hotel and advertised as 4 star with good reviews on here. it was quiet and accommodating for the relaxing week we wanted but more like a 3 not 4 star overall. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of cava and given our room. Unfortunately it was on the 1st floor and looking out of the glass doors, was a view of the pool and all of the other guests sunbathing, so you didn't have anywhere to escape to in private. Having been disappointed by this we returned to reception and asked for another room, one with a balcony as we requested when we booked. The staff swapped us rooms with someone who hadn't turned up on time, although didn't appear to really want to. Having been grateful for the other room, it was a lot better. On the 4th floor tucked in the corner looking out to sea with an amazing view and balcony to retreat to.

The room itself didn't meet my expectations, the cleanliness couldn't be faulted, it was very clean. But the rooms were dated and tired looking. There was a litre of water on arrival but this was not replaced as I would have expected in the week, so we had to keep refilling ourself at the restaurant. The bed was 2 singles pushed together to look like a double, for an advertised 'couples' only hotel this was a disappointment and something I feel the hotel has skimped on. The beds were okay, have seen better days and need to be replaced in the room we were in as creaked all of the time when you moved.

The restaurant was well laid out, there was lots to eat and you didn't have to wait for food very long that was being cooked fresh. My husband ate really well being a meat eater and could choose anything from the vast selection of food. However me being vegetarian the food became very samey, which I did expect. However the restaurant advertised a vegetarian of excellence certificate outside which didn't really match what was on offer. There was rarely a main meal vegetarian choice so you had to make up plate of food from what they had scattered around. Saying that I didn't go hungry, just ate a lot of cheese and salad for the week. Also the same food was offered for lunch and the hotel sadly seemed to put a lot fish or meat in with the prepared mixed salads.

The evening entertainment was good, the piano bar especially where there was live music every night. The bar staff were very efficient and the atmosphere welcoming. Outside of the hotel there is a small resort with a local shop and a bar. There is also a mini golf and bowling alley with arcades for a cloudy afternoon (not that there are many!)

There were plenty of sun beds around the pool and staff put more out when it got busy, so no one went without. The only downside is that they are all crammed in together and so you can't escape the smokers, who didn't regard anyone else around them. This was another plus for having a room above the1st floor with a balcony so you could use your own private beds away from the rest. The hotel should put designated sunbathing areas for smokers.

We travelled with Thompson and hired a car for 2 days, port of Mogan is well worth a visit. Lots of nice restaurants, cafés and shops to mooch around. The place is very pretty and not tacky like the town the other side of Taurito - porta Rico. The submarine trip was excellent and recommended, is well worth the money. If you don't have a car the number 1 bus goes from the resort, taking about 10 mins and is only 3 euros return each.

We had a relaxing week with plenty to do around the island if you like exploring, but the hotel doesn't quite match the brilliant reviews that's it's been given, unless your just there to eat and drink lots 24 / 7 without wanting the frills.

Room Tip: A room with number ending 1-9 will give you the best view, anything above the 3rd floor has a nice v...
