“Very nice all inclusive away from the winter and hyper kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

This was the second winter vacation in a row at the Suite Princess, and we will be back. The main reasoons for comming back has been the standard of the rooms with all rooms facing the sea and enjoying the sunset, the very friendly staff, the cleanliness and quality of the room service and the all inclusive food and beverage. The issue with other all inclusive hotels are the kids burning around on too high sugar levels, but luckily not here with the age limit of 16. The youngest generation complained a little about the internet capacity at times, but was able to stay in contact with the outside world. Yes, you have to get up early with your towel if you want the perfect spot in the sun, but then you can enjoy a very nice breakfast and then fresh newspapers and a coffee outside in the sitting areas (several areas with comfortable chairs shaded from the sun) before you get into serious tanning. We did not see any decline in service or the quality of the food from last stay, and we find the breakfast the best meal of the day. We prefer to stay on third floor or higher away from the ground, not because of noice, but the view. We took the free bus to Puerto Mogan and enjoyed a few hours strolling around. They are building a new road to Taurito and Mogan and you will mayb loose the spectacular narrow winding road with sheer drops straight into the sea below. get a seat on the righthand side of the bus for the ride from Mogan if they still go by the old road. We will return next year.

We were really quite tied for our honeymoon destination ... we only had one week after the wedding and the children weren't coming! So we chose for weather, adults only and not too far away and chose the Suite Princess. We arrived on a coach full of 50 other people who were all checking into the hotel at the same time, so reception was full and we were at the back of the queue! I asked the Thomson Rep if we could have a drink at the bar and come back later ... she replied that we couldn't use the facilities until we had checked in. So we went down there anyway! The waiter at the bar was so welcoming and served us with a smile. We eventually went back up to reception to check in and decided to upgrade to a superior all inclusive. If you like nice wine particularly this is a good move. The lower level of all inclusive is draught red wine/cava and you don't get branded spirits, although the spitirs didn't affect us too much. The "superior" A/I included a very nice Rioja by the bottle (or bottles if you wish). It also includes sunbeds on the balcony which we used as our balcony was in the sun. I don't honestly think there was any battle for sunbeds at the pool as there appeared to be beds free all day.
It wasn't the most romantic hotel in the world, but good value for money and I don't think there are may Hotels where all the staff are so consistantly friendly and happy in their work. There was salad every night, but also a choice of different potato most nights and for a large buffet they did very well to make it possible to chose carefully and have something different most nights. Somehow, on Gala night the food seemed to be a little better than other nights. The meat is cooked in the buffet room and I've never seen such an array of food for people with allergies. There seemed to be plenty to do, but we were happy to amuse ourselves. Evening entertainment was very good. They've just taken on two young singers who are excellent and great fun. If you get the chance to see the Lional Ritchie Tribute act don't miss it, particularly if you like a dance. Couldn't say he was awfully like him, but a great entertainer , singer and really interacted with the audience. Go early as it gets full. There's also a piano player on most night who was OK.
All in all it was a lovely holiday ... made especially nice by the staff who couldn't do any more to make it more pleasant. We'd go back tomorrow.

Spent a very pleasant week at the all-inclusive Suite Princess hotel from 8 April to 15 April 2013. The hotel is situated in a small bay called Paurito which is located in the south west of the island next to Puerto Mogan and is an all suite hotel with all rooms facing the sea. Check in was very efficient with cava or juice served whilst waiting. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and the services offered were very good. Our room (5004) was very large with a large balcony and an excellent view of the sea. Food was of high quality and good variety to suit all tastes; we were only there for one week so can't comment on whether the food is repetitive if staying for two or more weeks. Only criticism was the crowded pool area and the inevitable reserving of sunbeds with towels which was not policed by the hotel at all. Travelling to other areas is very easy; the hotel operates a free (once a day only) bus transfer to Puerto Mogan which is well worth the visit and public bus only costs just over a euro each way per person. A taxi will cost you about 7 euros each way. Market day is Friday. Boats leave Puerto Mogan every half hour to other resorts along the coast and are good value (a return ticket to porto Rico is 10 euros). In summary I would recommend this hotel for a week's stay to get away from the British weather during winter.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor and numbered between 001 and 012 to get the best sea views i.e. on the 6t...

We have just returned from our second trip to the Suite Princess having been previously two years ago. We don't normally return to the same hotel and so had some trepidation about this holiday particularly given some of the earlier reviews. However we needn't have been concerned as our second trip was even better than the first. The hotel is stunning carved into the mountain and overlooking the beach and Porta Mogan. The hotel uses the rock face as a feature in the hotel with subtle lighting and planting. The rooms are massive with an enormous bed set away from a seating area with settee and chair. The storage in the room was even enough for all my wife's cloths with some to spare. The balcony was large with chairs, table and two sun beds. The food was excellent with a wide range of choice and a varied menu at both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were efficient and helpful. Sunbeds were plentiful and the pool area well laid out however some of the beds were very close to each other but there were always areas you could find if you wanted a bit more privacy. This hotel is all about relaxation, it has low key entertainment both day and night with a piano bar and local acts in the concert room. We would definitely consider returning again.

Room Tip: We selected a room on a higher floor as the views are stunning.

Firstly, I would like to thank to all staff in the hotel, because everybody was very very nice.
I liked also entertainment programme I joined in: ping pong, riffle shooting, archery and aquagym with Carlitos was very funny, tai chi with Laura was also very nice and I appreciate professional pilates and aquagym with Aniko. I liked all demonstrations (paella, sangria, mojo and tapas) with the chief Antonio, I must try to prepare it at home ;-)
Live music in music bar was absolutely fantastic! They were also amazing during sunset and tropical day.
Professional shows were absolutely brilliant! Flamenco show was for me the best, Black brothers and other acrobatic show were also wooooowww!!! – Absolutely fantastic work Carlitos with people with the word “wow” – excellent entertainer.
The island is beautiful, I visited Las Palmas, Dunas - Maspalomas, Amadores, Anfi, Mogan, Puerto Rico,Palmitos park - wonderful place full of different kinds of animals and plants, proffesional shows with dolphins, wild birds, parrots...Public transport is cheap and usually on time. Taxi is expensive, but there is no other was to come back to the hotel in the night..People are very kind and helpfull.
Thanks to all people I meet there. It was fantastic holiday in paradise!!! I hope I will come back...

The hotel overall is very good.

We upgraded to a superior suite and as such got a higher level floor, sunbeds on the balcony, black wristbands entitling you to better branded drinks and a bottle of wine at dinner plus a few extra bits like wine and fruit in your room on arrival, robes and slippers etc. This was well worth the extra for us but is not something you have to do. Rooms above the entertainment on levels one/two would be very noisy, avoid them. Go for floors 4 to 9 any of these rooms would be good.

The service and staff are excellent and our room was clean and spacious. Food is good but very similar most nights so a once a week change to their in house waiter served restaurant "La Choza" was welcome albeit the food was okay. However you could eat as much as you wanted whenever you wanted so you'd never go hungry.

Biggest problem/drawback with this hotel is the perennial problem of selfish people going down VERY early to put towels on the best sunbeds several hours or in some cases not at all before they used them. Because of this we will probably not go back to this hotel as it really annoys us both. I was very tempted our last morning to go down and collect all the towels up and throw them in the pool. probably should have!

It really would not take much effort for the hotel to monitor the situation and take action, i imagine in the summer it would mean going down very early to get a bed or resigning yourself to the beach which is not fabulous.

As i said one of the advantages of upgrading was to have two sunbeds on our balcony, excellent except without a sun umbrella it was too hot to lie down on them during most of the day, and this was the end of March.

It was a good week holiday however with mostly good experiences, a very smooth flight, transfer, hotel and return to the UK spoilt by just a few minor things which took the edge off.

Room Tip: floors 4 to 9 are above any noise from the entertainment, pool and bar.

Returned on 8th April after an 11 night stay. On reading one particular review prior to our trip, a lady wrote 'sun doesn't hit the pool until 1pm'. She either needs a trip to specsavers or she should buy a new watch! The sun arrives at 9am and is lovely and warm at this time of year.
Her 'review' was harmful and totally misleading and just proves that some people are overly picky and never satisfied.
The self service situation is just that.......help yourself and how ! It works really well and you get what you want when you want it, with no waiting .You get waiter service if you upgrade to black band status, but although the wine (having sampled it at the Gala Dinner) is slightly better, the other 'add on's' are simply not worth the expensive upgrade. The Thompson staff are happy and helpful and the hotel crew even better and the Cava sundowner parties at 4.30 in the afternoon are as generous as it gets. Rooms are large and airy all of which have a great pool and sea view. Entertainment is varied but some of it is unintentionaly funny especially the juggger who kept dropping things.........hilarious. The tribute bands, especially the 'Drifters' had the place rocking ! Food is good and varied with breakfast to die for if you like the full monty English.
One last thing, a visit to Peurto do Mogan is a must. It's so pretty and it's title of 'Little Venice' is well deserved. Well done Thompson's, you've got this just right.

Room Tip: Get a room from the 3rd floor upwards to enjoy the pool and sea views better.
