“All Inclusive 1st timers!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

Lovely hotel if a little taken over by the older generation!! This was our first time all inclusive and could not have chosen better. Wonderful staff (especially Mario! an absolute star who helped my husband organise a few surprises for our anniversary). Food wonderful - although I do agree that breakfast and lunchtime had a better atmosphere than the evening meal. Nothing to do in the resort and do not expect to be able to swim in the sea. A trip to Mogan was a highlight and would love to go back there. Thomson let us down with the room - avoid room 2023 which is above the disco and has the smallest balcony... wasn't too much of a problem for us as we like to stay up but felt a little shortchanged looking at balconies of other rooms! Would we go back? definitely but would enjoy more days at Mogan and avoid room 2023!!

Room Tip: Be careful of 2nd floor rooms!

Reading the latest reviews for the Suites Princess,i think they are very harsh. My wife and I had a first class holiday in January.the hotel was one of the best ones we have been to,and has a result of a very good holiday,we have booked to go again at the end of April.Dont be put off by poor reviews, the hotel is wonderful.

For an all inclusive hotel they have got a lot to learn, all the staff were very good, reps were good, the location not very good, no beach just stones, the food was not very well presented, not a great deal of selection. The hotel needs refurbishment in many areas. We will not be going back. Mich Yorkshire.

We were told by Thomsons that this was a 5 star hotel. I would rate this more of a 3 star. the rooms were spotless cleaned every day.Fresh towels every day, staff very efficient and helpful. The meals seemed to be the same all of the time.Veal played a big part of the meals on a nightly basis. I not impressed with the food, I expected better for a supposedly 5 Starr place.
There was not much to do around the area unless you went on the laical bus and went to other areas such as Mogan.
The hotel when we stayed in it in February was 80% Sweedish,German and Scandinavians people who thought nothing of barging in and going to the front of the queue and taking over. it was as if we were invisible. I would not go back to this hotel or area again. I found there was not much to do.
Entertainment left a lot to be desired also.

Canteen overcrowded and squashed.

Pool area cramped

Aircon not effective

Cockroach issue in room

Resort is nice if after peace and quiet, just not a great hotel and other reviews suggest these issues are getting worse.

We travelled as a couple aged between 40-50 for 1 week between 9th - 16th March. We had upgraded to the deluxe suite with Thomsons at time of booking and with such good reviews on Trip Advisor we we're really looking forward to this holiday. We arrived at the hotel on the Saturday evening around 21.45 pm and as the whole bus was staying at the suite princess it took over half an hour to check in, which should be quicker, but the resturant had been kept open for us so wasnt too bad, but it was shiny ham and yoghurts and bread so we didnt bother and headed straight for the bars which we found to be very nice, especially the piano bar with Nico. Our room was on the 9th floor with fantastic views but in the morning was really disappointed with the overall room and balcony as was really tired especially the bathroom. This included mould in bathroom and badly stained fixtures and fittings lots of rust and discoloured tiles etc.. The towels and bathrobes were really badly worn and smelt of really cheap detergent not good for something that really was meant to be 4 star plus. We found the sunbeds on the balcony really good as we don't go on holidays to get up with all the saddo's and put your towel out, I just wish this would be dealt with by hotels all over the world!! We found the breakfast and lunch time meals very enjoyable but we're once again disappointed with the evening meal as like a school canteen and the salt and pepper pots were rusty inside stand and lots of crumbs and dust round table stand. The public areas were mostly well maintained but the settees in reception were stained ripped and faded. We also paid €19 euros for a weeks Internet but don't bother as far too slow and you had to keep logging back on. On the whole this hotel is more like a 3 star and is way over priced so why all the good reviews beats us. Very average would we return or recommend not a chance unless you get it really cheap. Thomsons need to up there game as brochure says up to date contempory rooms , yeah right cheap laminate flooring and tired decor and furnishings. Also this hotel is couples only but what they forget to mention is its right next to a water park and in the height of the season will be really noisy.

We went for a week at the end of feb with some friends, booked through Thomson, champagne reception on arrival, nice touch, room very large and clean, but a bit uninspiring, as we arrived late the hotel had opened the restaurant for a cold buffet ,again nice touch, The good bits , we all thought the food and selection was excellent, la chosa romantic meal was superb ,breakfast (especially the bacon) superb. The staff were brilliant and more than helpful. The Thomson entertainment duo ' trouble ' were great, as we're the reps although we didn't book trips ,nothing was to much trouble, and the entertainment team very good. The not so good bits for us, there is not much to see in the resort you can walk it in 15 mins a few shops, a water park , a disco, a lovely beach. But puerto Morgan only 15 mins in a taxi 6 euros , the sunbed grabbers up at 4 am towels on the bed all day were told against hotel policy, ignorant people , you always get plenty on an all inclusive holiday, the evening entertainment some good ,some not so good ,not really our age group. Given we thoroughly enjoyed the week. Hired a car a couple of days which was worth it, didn't bother with the black band, unless you want to walk round with a bottle of wine in your hand not worth it , all beer wine and spirits were very good.

Room Tip: Upgrade if you want a fridge, kettle, sunbeds on your terrace, and walk round with a bottle of wine...
