Just got back from the Suite Princess yesterday. The hotel in my opinion is the best I have stayed in to date. We arrived late on the Monday evening and were provided with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Our room was massive with a huge kingside bed and lovely furnishings and as we had upgraded to a superior suite we had a 26 inch tv,fridge and free safe plus wine and fruit. All the balconies have sea views and upgraded suites also have sunbeds on the balconies. The food was excellent with plenty of choice for all tastes, the one thing to point out though is on an evening male guests must wear long trousers in the dining room something that is not mentioned in most holiday brochures, the head chef also offers an exclusive five course meal that you can book, The pool area is spotlessly clean with more than enough sunbeds for everyone, the all inclusive drinks are self service during the day unless you want spirits which you have to get from the bar staff. The only reason that i would not rate this hotel as a five star is there entertainment programme, dont get me wrong as hotel entertainment goes it is still far superior to most. There isn't much to the resort but this was one of the reasons we booked and had total rest and relaxation in luxury for one week. All hotel staff and the Thomson holiday reps were fantastic couldn't fault them. Information and local knowledge was great we didn't book any tours ect but we did get a taxi to Puerto de Mogan well worth a visit . All in all my wife and I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning very soon.

Ok so where to start, got to the hotel and immediately no air con in reception, met with a nice glass of champagne so a nice touch.
Check in was ok I guess and then given directions to our room....got into room and very very hot....air con I guess did it's job but still took a fair while to cool down the room.
First impressions of room nice balcony with loungers but tv so far away from bed.....channels are very LIMITED....ok so I know you don't go to watch tv but still would be nice to have other options for couples who enjoy a quiet vacation...must say room was was very quiet and tranquil.
Enjoyed the sun all week and did no excursions as having done them previously with Thomson/First Choice aren't value for money.
All in all the Hotel was ok nice but I don't know if it's a 4 star.....ok now the worse bit the FOOD in the restaurant and what they call 'La Choza'....this is where you have you have lunch.
The food was lacking in choice and also quality I must say, Hotel Atlantica Bay in Cyprus was at least ten times better in terms of choice and taste.
Meat - Overdone and very tough
Fish - lacked the quality and taste
Dishes on hot plate - bland, not seasoned properly and daily portions of chips.
It seemed like every lunchtime was a choice of pizza and chips, it was a huge disappointment, some reviewers say that people on here are too picky and too ignore food reviews, but honestly it's very poor for what you pay.
So I would rate this 3 out of 5 at best

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room above 6th floor....great views and peace when you want it.

Just got back on 15th July from a 1 week break at the Suite Princess.
We were delayed in Manchester for two hours at the beginning of our holiday but when we arrived at midnight we were greeted with friendly and helpful staff working to check us in as quickly as possible. We were told that we could go to the restaurant for a snack before settling for the night.
We got up to the room and i was surprised at how big these actually were. The beds are massive. We had got a bottle of water in our room which was nice - not having to worry where to get one at the time of night it was. The room was spotless with wonderful views of the sea and just to the right we could see Puerto De Mogan.
The food was varied and there was something even for the fussy eaters (me included in this catagory.) The staff were not on top of you to clear away plates however if you left your table (after finishing) the table was spotless again on your return.
The piano bar was very chilled out, never too busy and Nico on the piano was superb.
You could travel pretty much where you wanted by bus from the stop just at the roundabout at the top of the road. Into Mogan/Puerto Rico 1.40 euro pp each way.
We did a trip to Palmitos Park, this was well worth the journey with the most spectacular birds and the shows were fabulous. We went on the submarine in Puerto Mogan where we got to see tropical fish and a shipwreck this is well worth a trip. Also we went on a fishing trip to look for Marlin, as it happened someone did catch a marlin on our boat, but we had the opportunity to see dolphins, whales, turtles and even a stingray.
The staff at the hotel helped to make our holiday, always friendly and willing to assist in any way to ensure you got the most from our holiday.

Thanks Suite Princess.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th Floor in room 8006, beautiful views of sea from room.

We stayed in the Suite Princess Hotel Gran Canaria from the 30th June till the 7th of July and it's was great! We're a young couple and found the hotel to be absolutely spotless as we're the rooms, the staff were excellent very friendly and helpfull although at breakfast and evening meals be careful to not leave your drink or food unattended at your table as the waiting staff will just pick it up and believe you have finished! The food was delicious though and plenty of choice the drink was fantastic and definietly not worth upgrading to black bands just for branded drinks as we had silver bands and everything tasted the same as the branded drinks! Their was always plenty Of choice for sunbeds we often went of during the day and still had plenty of choice when we got back! Entertainment was good But started at half ten at night so bit of a wait! The area is beautiful although we like walking and had to get a bus to areas which was very cheap only €1.40 each to the town centre puerto rico strongly advise to go Palmitos Park & Aqualand we had two great days out there and got discount from Thomson reps in the hotel! Also Amodores beach is beautiful white sand clear blue sea and has a beautiful walk way to Puerto Rico! The private beach next to Suite Princess is black sand so not as great! Overall though fantastic holiday and definietly going back and would recomend it!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel. First impressions were good but as time went on we found a few faults.
We found the room very large and plenty of room and were surprised by how big the balcony was. We had a very large double bed (queen size) and it was very comfortable. We noticed that the settee and chair in the lounge were getting worn with the material ripped in places. The tv was flat screen although the only english channels they had was sky news and a few american channels which had interference on them apart from one. A safe and fridge was in the room if you didnt upgrade to the black armband, you could pay for these seperately. We just paid for the safe which was 12 euros for a week.

The benefits of upgrading are only apparent if you drink a bottle of wine at lunch and at dinner to make it worthwhile, and want all the other luxuries in your room at the extra cost of 70 euros each.

We found the food to be ok although we found the meat to be too well done and a little tough. All the food was very hot and they kept renewing the food before it ran out which was very good. The restaurant was too hot and lacked air flow and there were the odd fly around the table. This should have been controlled better. We found the tables were too close together which meant you couldnt eat privately, more like a canteen environment. If you had black armbands we found the waiters seemed to be more friendly with these people.

Outside around the pool there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone even though people were reserving them early in the morning, we went in the pool everyday and found this to be lovely and warm and clean.

The nightly entertainment was just ok typical for a hotel of 3 star, with a different act every night.
The Thompson Duo played round the pool every day and after a few days it started to grate on you hearing the same old songs.

The location was not great with no shops apart from one or two souvenir shops and a supermarket.

We would recommend Puerto Mogan especially the Friday market which was quite large and varied. Quite a few times we got the local bus into Mogan which cost 1.40 euros each. Wouldnt recommend Puerto Rico as it was full of cheap tacky shops and catered for youngs brits.

Went to the the welcome meeting by Thomson and was amazed how expensive their trips were.

Overall did not feel like a four star hotel and thought it catered more for the more mature clients, not really suited to younger couples.

Room Tip: Request a high room 6th floor and above.
