“Great family holiday”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We stayed at this lovely hotel 18-25th March with our 9-month old son and had a great week!
Had read a lot of reviews before our trip, so was expecting some small faults due to the upcoming renovation.
We stayed on the 8th floor and our room had a large balcony with a great view!
The bathroom had a smell (common in older bathrooms) on arrivall and needes to be worked on with new tiles! And after taking a shower in the bath the floor got wet every time. But we didnt make a complain since we knew they were closing for renovations..
The lifts did annoy us a bit.. We needed space due to our stroller, so sometimes we had to wait for a while. But the view is o fantastic so it was worth it.
Did not go to any off the evening entertaiment because of the late starts (we are on baby schedule)
We went to Puerto de Mogan with the free hotel bus and the town is a must see!
The staff was really friendly and always smiling and great with our son!
Would we visit Hotell Taurito Princess again? Yes!!

Room Tip: Great views from the balcony on the higher levels

Just returned from the Taurito Princess Gran Canaria.

Had a wonderful week at this hotel maybe the weather which was gorgeous had something to do with it . The hotel is built so every room has a sea view the higher the floor the better the view we were on the first floor but still had a great view. The rooms are your usual twin beds, dresser, wardrobe television, but no English chanels apart from news, but who wants tele when on holiday and very clean as is the rest of the hotel. It has two really nice pools which can get a bit congested with sunbeds but there is a veranda where you can always get a sunbed and a good thing is you can't put towels on beds before 10 oclock or they are removed.

We found the food, in the restaurant, to be excellent lots of choice something to suit everyone and all fresh you help yourself to soft drinks, beer and wines. There is also a snack bar near the pool which serves food from 10 30 Burgers, hot dogs, pizza and again you help yourself to drinks. The hotel is closing in April for a short period to be refurbished and I believe it is going to be aimed more for family with a large childrens club. we found March to be a great t ime to be there wouldn't go at peak summer time as a couple as I think it would be extremely busy. All the staff seem very friendly and helpful a hotel I would be very happy to visit again.

The resort of Taurito is quite small built around a central square where there is a lido with water slides there are a few shops but no bars to speak of but there is entertainment in the square at night. There is a beach with a couple of bars but apparantly after a storm the sand was blown away and its very rocky but lots of sunbeds if your a beach person.

All in all its a lovely place to have a relaxing holiday and would certainly return.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view all rooms have views and balconies.

Recently returned from The Taurito Princess. A week earlier bad weather had washed the beach away and left sun bathing for alternative ways of Holiday actictivities. The previous reviewer Jogdad has covered all the relevent points and I agree with the comments. We enjoyed our week, the Hotel is in a very quiet position, the trip on the Hotel bus to Mogan is a worth while, the food is satisfactory, the coffee ,less so, the wine on AI is OK, the Pool Snack Bar food is very basic and not up to the rest of the Hotel food standards, the AI drinks at the Bar are fine. Helping yourself to beer, wine and soft drinks works well
Overall the Hotel is fine,if you don't want a beach holiday. The Taurito beach is not good for sea access. unless the sand is restored to cover the rocks..

Room Tip: We were 3rd floor, good balcony and sea view. Useful for when the lift was unavailable.

Just got back from a week at the Taurito Princess! What a fabulous time we had! Looked at both the negative and positive comments on here and decided to go with the positives and are really glad that we did! The weather was very hot and it was nice to get away from the awful weather we are having in the UK! The hotel itself is indeed ready for a an update, but this did not spoil any part of our holiday. Air con was very quiet, even when on full! Such a beautiful place, and the staff are very hard working, very helpful and always have a smile, no matter what! We went as a couple, but this is ideal for families with young children as well! I really hope that when it closes next month and has its "refit" that it doesnt change any of the ambience that is in abundence at the hotel! Spotless clean, our room was cleaned, beds made and fresh towels supplied, daily! Pool towels were supplied which helps on the luggage allowance as well! The pool area was also very clean with staff collecting glasses etc regularly. The hotel is so close to the beach/sea its fantastic. The view from the balcony (every room has one facing the sea) is breathtaking! The scenic lifts were great..I really hope they keep this feature..the view over looking the the beach and the pool area from the 11th floor has to be seen to be believed! The lifts did not break down once while we were there and are in constant use. As for the food and the restaurant, well, I really cannot see how anyone could fault it? A huge selection at every sitting (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with something to suit all tastes.
Drinks were always available and the wine that I had with my lunch and evening meal wasnt bad at all! Entertainment every night, that was quite good actually, especially the Lionel Ritchie and Lennon and McCartney tributes! All in all, like I have said we had a fantastic time! Will most definitely return, hopefully next year, to see what the "new hotel" is like. Not too indifferent to how it is now, I hope!

3rd visit to taurito princess as a couple always love it .this time decided to take my mum who is 86 .thats when we realised that this hotel is not geared up for the elderley or for people who have mobility problems or pushchairs. you need to use the lift to access ALL areas, all rooms, restaurant, pool, bars. lots of stairs and slopes.
The bathrooms have no grab rails making it very very difficult to get in or out of the bath,no rooms with just showers.mum had to use the showers in the public sauna everyday.
There had been a storm the week we arrived and has washed away the sand on the beach and bought in lots of rocks and boulders making it impossible to get to the sea.apparently the local council are going to make it right!!!!!!!!!!!!! so if you are going for the sea check first.
The hotel is closing for 2 months for renovations i do hope they put grab rails in all bathrooms.
we will go back to see what they do ,as we do love it there the staff are wonderful ,the food ok and the wonderful sun.BUT not take mum.

Room Tip: no views on 1st floor.go for balcony not terrace.

We have just returned from two weeks, with two friends, at the Taurito Princess. I know there were some negative comments about this hotel, mainly about how tired looking it was. Yes, we found some areas where a paint job was necessary, and some of the wall mortar needed attention, but that is the effect on seafront properties. We arrived late evening at the hotel, and was quickly ushered into the restaurant (before booking in) so we could eat a meal and have a drink. Having requested a room on a high floor, we found ourselves on the 10th of 11 floors, great views out across the bay.
The room was very spacious, very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The bedroom measured about 6m. by 3.5, with a separate bathroom about 2,5m. by 3m. There was a full sized bath with shower over which pleased my wife. Towels and bed linen were changed twice a week and rooms cleaned properly, and when we requested extra pillows, they were provided within minutes. Towels for use at pool areas were provided in the room, so no need to bring yours.
Balconies (some balconies were bigger than others) had two chairs and a table.
The hotel consists of two blocks, one in front of the other, at a lower and higher levels, with lower rooms located at level 1 - 4. The upper block with floors 5 - 11 was integrated with the lower levels and shared the same lifts. All rooms enjoyed a sea view and a quiet (at night) air con. system. Outside was one cool pool, one heated (very warm) and a small paddling pool for little ones. Pool rules stated that towels left on loungers before 10 am would be removed, and this did happen (at times).
The food, at breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good with a wide variety of dishes to select from, and importantly, the dishes were refreshed frequently.
Some of the evening entertainment was excellent, in particular the Spanish and Flamenco dancers and the three tenors.
All areas of the hotel, including around the pool area were kept clean, and there were two outside bars. As the hotel is all inclusive, wine, lager and soft drinks were available on a self service basis until midnight, with spirits served at the bars.
My wife and her friend celebrated birthdays during our stay and I had informed the hotel beforehand. On the relevant days, both received a voucher for Premium cocktails, and with a mention to the restaurant they decorated a reserved table for breakfast, very nice.
We found all the staff to be both friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble to them.
Our departure from the hotel was at 5 pm. so we had a good day there. The hotel provided a room (which you reserve on the day at reception), free of charge, for us to shower and change for our journey home. Towels are also provided, so often hotels charge for this service.
By now, those reading these reviews will know the hotel is to close in April for three months to upgrade, we just hope that the culture of the hotel does not change.
While some do not see this as a four star hotel, we all would, just look beyond what is in front of your eyes. One minor issue was the lifts which proved a little unreliable, but that is on the list
We like this hotel very much and plan to return to see the upgrade results, overall we really enjoyed our holiday.

Room Tip: We prefer the upper floors but all rooms have good views, clearly, from floors seven upwards the vie...

We stayed here for 10nights, it was our 2nd visit, i do agree its a bit tired, i can understand why its getting a revamp.the food is ok, i have had better, could do with a better choice of desserts.
we like the pool bar for snacks, but noticed sometimes, the snacks sat there for a while, chips were warm.
the staff are very friendly and helpful. nothing was too much, you ask for an extra pillow, it was there with in 10mins.
we found the animation team very young and the evening entertainment not so good, only 2 shows we enjoyed were the tribute to Lionel Ritchie and The Tramps.
The piano bar was good, but that has been made smaller,i assume thats down to the refit.
We did not go to the welcome meeting, as we did that last time, we went on holiday for relaxing not for trips etc.
Due to bad weather on a few days the sea was very rough, so no water sports etc, and lots of sand washed away leaving lots of rocks etc.
Lifts, there are 3 but a bit slow..

Room Tip: top floors are great for views, but lifts are slow
