“Great beer selection, confused service”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

The grace darling is a very hip spot reminiscent of some of my favorite places to drink in Washington DC, and definitely made me feel comfortable and at home. They had an impressive selection of liquors (including Rittenhouse Rye, which I was shocked to see in Australia!), and the best selection of beer I saw over my 2.5 weeks in Australia. (I love beer, so we spent every night trying new beers).

We ordered food, and it didn't seem like it would ever come. About 40 minutes later, we finally caught the bartender, who told us he didn't know what happened, but that the kitchen was now closed and we wouldn't be charged for our food. Two minutes later, our food arrived, and he said "I guess it was the last thing they cooked."

I took off one point because we were really hungry and it was a shame to wait nearly an hour for our dinner, but still rated it highly because the food was well prepared and delicious!

“A great find - great food”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

For what looks relatively unimpressive from the outside, step in for a choice of casual pub and fireplace to nicely decked out unpretentious restaurant section.
Great food, wine options and service.

“Great place to go for a drink and some good food ...”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Can highly recommend dropping into the hotel for a drink, but the restaurant is very good as well. If you are lucky enough to go when the Rib Eye to share is on the menu and you are a carnivore, then I suggest you give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Its the place you walk or drive by and want to be part of the crowd. And when you are, its great! Good beer on tap, good wine list and good food. perfect for outdoor sitting and watching Smith St or a cosy winter meal in one of the many areas inside

“A nice pub, good quality food and nice atmosphere”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The Grace Darling is a really nice pub. It has a good variety of dishes and is a step above your average pub meal. It is a lovely bluestone building on Smith Street Collingwood and attracts plenty of regulars/locals as well as a steady stream as well of first time visitors. Well worth a visit and an easy tram ride from the city if you don't have your own transport.
