Ended up here for sunday lunch after not being able to get into Little Creatures down the road.
Started off slow as there were quite a few things on the menu that were not available ( one being the duck fat chips!!) all were disappointed. However all the food we did have was excellent. Nice array of tapas plus larger plates. Burgers were very good. Good bears on tap $7.50 pint so bargain not so much the imported Spanish cider at $15 a bottle. Took our 2 grandkids along and they were quite comfortable. Good service always runs out a bit than you think with tapas but worth a try if you are in the area or just use as a bar for good beer.

Brunswick street runs through the centre of Fitzroy at the edge of Melbourne's CBD, a short walk from the city circle tram stop at Spring street. It is about 2 kms long and is an eclectic mix of cloths shops including high range second hand and vintage, as well as a great mix of cafes and restaurants. It is full of character and energy. Great to walk up up one side of the street and back the other. A great way to spend an afternoon with the locals.

Visited this venue on strength of TripAdvisor reviews. Venue is a large space featuring a mix of comfy couches, tables & chairs & barstools with benches. Background music features current hits played just the right volume so still possible to hold a conversation. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Wide range of both vegetarian & meat dishes on offer; I had the steak sandwich with potato skins ( delicious) while others enjoyed the roast lamb special & wild mushroom risotto. Dessert was a slice of apple pie with muscat- fabulous!
Venue offers a wide range of ciders & beers, & a more limited (but perfectly adequate) wine list.
Will definitely go again with a group of friends & when we are looking for a venue that caters for both vegetarians & meat eaters alike - and does it well!

A great atmosphere is complimented by friendly staff and tasty food. The prices are pretty good for what you get ($7 for a pint of cider, $16 for a burger & $18 for risotto)!

I love cider-still takes me back to my student days when it was cheap!
I had not visited here before and now regret this oversight! We each had a tasting plate for $22 each of which were comprised of 3 selections of our own choice. Fantastic tastes and a good way to taste a number o dishes. But then it was time to choose our ciders! The bar person was very patient and helpful in this regard.
We can't wait for our next Melbourne trip so we can go back!
