“Great Anytime”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Have eaten here regularly over the last couple of years and never disappointed. Standout is the pleasant staff. Why don't other places realize that having pleasant staff makes all the difference. Food is prepared in the open kitchen at the end of the hall and always fresh. Menu is pretty set and a little limited but never an issue with us. Good range of beers an ciders and sometimes barbecue specials at weekends. Recommended

“Loved it!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We went for brunch - started with a delicious hot coffee (not that many places seem to be able to serve a 'hot' coffee) The we both had toast with beetroot business, spinach and poached eggs - all done extremely well (and you know how difficult it is to get a poached egg just right!)
Excellent service my smiling, friendly staff, papers and magazines to read. All-in-all, well worth a visit.

Cool, laid back ambience. A nice glass of Sauvignon blanc and a scrummy pizza, pear, rocket and Gorgonzola , mmmmm. Lovely x

“Great place to drink, food ordinary”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

We may not be the right demographic (being a family with teenagers) but we found the music too loud for a weekday meal, the seats very uncomfortable and the food disappointing. Service was average - staff didn't look particularly happy to be there. Atmosphere is great though and the drinks great - particularly the beer!

“Good choice for groups”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

This is one of those places that makes me wish Tripadvisor rankings were out of 10, so I could give this a 7. Have been 3 or 4 times and have found the food consistent, the staff friendly enough, and the service timely. Its big and noisy so probably suited to bigger groups rather than couples or small groups.

The food is all tasty, and mostly shared plate style which is probably better suited to the format. Being a Little Creatures branded hall the beer list is disappointingly short, and a tad expensive considering they are the brewers - $5-6 for a draft pot (330ml). 2 drinks and some shared plates and you're looking at about $40 a head, a tad excessive I think for a light lunch.

Overall its enjoyable for groups of 4+, less than that and I'd go for somewhere with more choice on the food / drink menus, and easier parking - a hassle in this part of Melbourne.
