We stayed in the villa for 2 weeks in July 2018. The booking, deposit, payments etc were made with ease and the damage deposit returned promptly too.
Jill sent us great welcome information not only about the house but also included activities in the area we might like to know about in advance.
We were met on arrival and an initial shop of items was already put away for us (available at a small additional cost).
We were immediately taken by the villa. No surprises; everything was exactly as described if not better. The villa was well maintained, appliances all in good order and there was plenty of crockery, glasses etc for the 10 of us. We paid extra for aircon which we felt was necessary in July. That said, there are ceiling fans which would suffice for cooler months.
Both adults and kids loved the patios, balcony area and pool. The pool was a good size and pleasant 26C. The pool side area was excellent too having 6 sunbeds, a covered bar/seating area (with fridge) and enough space to spread out. Table tennis table and other games available too.
The villa is a 5 min drive or 10-15 min walk to Alcaucin. It's a nice place with some restaurants/bars, a few convenience shops, a bank and a small weekly market. There's plenty more within the area to explore.
Would we visit again or recommend Casa Louisa? Certainly!
Second visit to Casa Louisa lived up to our expectations, lovely villa with everything you need for your comfort, lovely clean pool, fantastic views, wonderful location near the village of Alcausin.
For a day out,if you can bare to leave the villa, there are plenty of places to explore all within a short car journey.
Especially enjoyed evenings sitting on the balcony, watching the sun go down with a glass of wine and trying to photograph the geckos catching insects on the ceiling.
I am sure we will do our best to try and come back again sometime in the future.
We have just returned from our second stay at Casa Louisa and we love it. I've already asked my partner to rebook for next year. It's such a lovely villa for young and old, great for families but would also be good for a group of couples looking to relax. Gill takes so much care to make sure you have everything you need and enough information before you arrive. Lots of info on days out and places to eat but you could just spend everyday by the pool. There are toys for children as well as table tennis, darts, books galore and dvds. Lots of places to sit outside too. I can't wait to go back, for me this is true Spain, beautiful views and great weather. The villa is on two levels so there are two lounges great for larger groups. Whilst the kitchen is small it has everything you need. There are 3 bath/shower rooms so plenty for everyone.
What a view!!! Looking out from the balcony into the valley is so breathtaking. This whole area is so very special and Casa Louisa is THE place to stay when you are in this area. The outside space is so well set out, it makes it very pleasant for groups to stay here. The flowers and plants are beautiful. The house is so well equipped, everything has been thought about and it makes it very easy to stay in the house. Jill has everything organised so well. My boys love board games and they were delighted to see the games here and the table tennis but the highlight for them was the pool, which is massive. There are so many pool toys too, they had a ball. The national park nearby is so very special and it is well worth bringing your walking shoes and enjoying it. We would love to come back again and see more of this area and spend time in Casa Louisa, I couldn't recommend it more to anyone.
Our third visit to Casa Louisa was as fantastic as the previous two. As always, Jill was a superstar - flexible and accommodating with our booking. The house managers in Spain (Steve and June) had done a marvellous job - the villa was scrupulously clean for our arrival. Casa Louisa is a 'home from home' with everything we could possibly want and need for our stay. We enjoyed late breakfasts with delicious fresh pastries and bread from Panifico Juanita at Puente Don Manuel. The swimming pool was crystal clear and sparking and maintained during our stay. The frenzy of morning swimming was followed by long, lazy lunches round the enormous marble table that we manage to extend each year to accommodate our growing numbers! The air con is a brilliant perk as it meant we awoke from our afternoon siestas feeling refreshed and ready for more pool action! The array of pool inflatables provided kept everyone entertained. If we had not ventured to the amazing beaches on the coast, we dragged ourselves away from the pool by 7pm and enjoyed meals out in local towns and villages including Alcaucin, Periana, Torre del mar and Nerja. The foam party in Alcaucin was another highlight of our trip, as was our walk up the River Chillar in Nerja. Casa Louisa really is a little corner of paradise. A truly marvellous place!

We just spent 2 weeks in this wonderful villa. It has breathtaking views from every terrace and pool area and the photographs do not do it justice. The entire villa is beautifully maintained and equipped with absolutely everything you could wish for. The location is peaceful, at the expense of a slightly hairy last few minutes drive over unmade road. The detailed maps, instructions, directions and recommendations provided by the owners are fantastic. Would definitely return in the future.
