“Heaven on earth! wonderful location and stunning villa”
Reviewed July 6, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

To arrive at Casa Louisa after about an hour's drive along the coast and then up in to the hills of Axarquia is a wonderful treat.

The house is built in the local Spanish style. It is very spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean and extremely well-equipped. There are extensive outdoor spaces where one can sit on sofas and chairs to relax, sip a glass of wine and take in the extensive southerly views and watch the sun going down with magnificent sunsets. Also, plenty of dining areas with superb large marble tables and room for everyone. The pool is divine, cleaned twice a week and larger than is usual in a private house, with a large covered, equipped pool area.

The owner, Jill, has thought of everything to make this stunning villa a sheer delight to spend time in. We were there for 2 weeks and only ventured out to shop, visit Camares, Alhama de Granada and Lake Berjemales, some local restaurants and walk from the villa up the edge of the Parque National nearby. There are plenty of guides, maps, recommendations and suggestions provided for visits to the coast, white villages, restaurants, sporting activities and major attractions within reach i.e. Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and Malaga's Picasso Museum.

This has to be the best villa we have ever experienced or rented. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a lovely review! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment .. its the last thing you have time to do when you get back into normal life after a holiday and we appreciate it. Our family think exactly the same thing of course but that is hardly the point! We can't be in Spain all the time, all with busy lives and love to share with others what is, to us, a very special place. Its great when people enjoy the house as much as we do.

“So good,we booked another 3 weeks here.”
Reviewed August 25, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This was our second stay at this villa and having had such a fabulous holiday last time, booked for 3 weeks. Our much anticipated return was not a disappointment. The villa is beautiful and so spacious and comfortable. We particularly liked the variety of outside space. Plenty of suitable dining areas to eat as a large group, but lots of seating to find a little bit of peace from the main group whether you prefer the sun or the shade. it is very hard to leave the fabulous pool area, but we found the villa well located to visit the coast and pretty hilltop villages. We bought most of our food at the high quality local butcher but had some very enjoyable meals in the nearby restaurants also. I can't think of anything negative to say about this villa.

Delighted you weren't disappointed! Sometimes a second visit can be a bit of a let-down but not this time. We're so glad you all had another excellent holiday at Casa Louisa. Our family all love the house and work hard to squeeze time in Alcaucin when they can. Its so good to hear others enjoy being there during the times we can't make it ... really it is! Thanks for taking the time to review the house.

“Heaven of a place!”
Reviewed July 13, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Casa Louisa is a tranquil, amazing place near a village called Alcaucin. The owner, lady called Jill, made us very welcomed and her help through the booking process was outstanding. She will answer any question you may have and will try to help you with any issue that may arise. The villa is situated in a quiet spot, a wonderful place to relax but if you are looking for some buzz, it's probably not a place for you. The villa has everything you may need, it actually has more than you need :-) . During our stay we did a few trips to different places suggested by Jill ( Nerja caves, the coast, the national park, the lake). I wasn't impressed with the coast but the mountains are amazing and the pool had much warmer water than the sea so we decided to enjoy the swim in the pool. If you are coming with children, Jill will provide you with all the necessary things you may need and kids love the place. We had a wonderful time there and would love come back.

We are all delighted you enjoyed your holiday at Casa Louisa! We all work hard to make sure this spacious house shines, the pool sparkles and that everything works to a tee. The setting is stunning of course but you need to be very comfortable to relax and enjoy. And yes .. its not a place if you want razamataz! I guess its the peace, tranquility and gorgeous views that appeal to us. We never go to the beach to swim either. We prefer the pool, the inland mountain lakes and rivers!

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us what you thought of your holiday. We are all so glad you liked the house ... and agree about staying happily by the pool without going anywhere! We all get very lazy when we are there. There is a lot to do, though, and some of you obviously made the most of it. For the team, it is gratifying to know that you found the house so comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We do try hard .. and we appreciate your comments.

“Absolutely wonderful stay!”

My wife and I have stayed in different villas in southern Spain before, and this one is the best managed, by far. The owner was friendly, prompt at communicating with us, and genuinely cared about our comfort during our stay. She even looked up scuba diving companies for us when she found out that we dive. The property manager, who was a short drive away from the villa, was friendly and made herself available if we needed her. We highly recommend this property.

Villa: VERY CLEAN! Neat freaks will enjoy it here. Two floors, plenty of bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and areas to eat or just sit back and relax. Screens on the doors and windows and multiple A/C units. A private pool, BBQ, nice sized kitchen, and wood burning fireplace (wood available on site!). There is also an outdoor wood burning stove that you can make pizzas or bread in. Lots of space to tan or sit and enjoy the view. Pool toys and ping pong available. Quite a few bugs outside, but they kept to themselves. The owner did provide lots of different ways to get rid of them (sprays, candles, etc.), which worked well during outdoor dinners.

Location: in the hills with a view of the lake. Other nearby villas aren't a bother. A dirt road (partly paved) gets you there. Only local traffic. The road is a bit bumpy, but we made it just fine in a Smart car. Short drive to little pueblos. Petrol stations and grocery stores are a bit further, but not too far away. We were able to buy fresh oranges from local farmers that were selling them on the side of the road at dirt cheap prices. Very delicious!

The owner provided lots of reading material about the villa, the local area, and other activities that are further afield. The information was very handy, and even included maps that you could take with you on your adventures. Granada, Nerja, Malaga, Seville, even Almeria (2.5 hour drive) all are driving distance.

We were 2 people, but the villa could very comfortably fit many more (at least 10+). We would definitely return again!

Thanks so much for giving us the 'thumbs up' and also for taking the time to write a review. I'm sure its the last thing on your mind when you get back into a busy life after a relaxing holiday. We really appreciate it. Our team works hard to make our guests as comfortable as possible during their stay at Casa Louisa and to minimise hassle .. so glad it worked for you. Yes ... I'm afraid there are mosquitos everywhere around the Mediterranean and they come out to play as the sun goes down. We don't have many around the house but even one bite is annoying. Its why we advise insect repellant and provide spray and so forth. We are delighted, however, you enjoyed your time in Andalucia after travelling such a long way: some good memories to take home with you.
