I have been in Verona to see an exhibition (da Botticelli a Matisse) last March and I have chosen the Montemezzi Hotel to spend a SmartBox vaucher. The hotel is clean, modern and well furnished. It is located at 15 minutes south of Verona and is very easy to find. The area is very quiet, but a car is recommended. We enjoyed the restaurant with very good local food and good breakfast in the morning. The girls at the reception and the restaurant were friendly and willing to help. If you go to Verona with a car and do not want to challenge yourself with downtown traffic and area limits, this is a good place to stay.

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for leaving us such a great review! We are pleased to read that you have enjoyed your stay, the local food we serve at the restaurant, our staff and hopefully the exhibition as well. One of the advantage of our Hotel is the location: 15 min. to Verona, in the midst of nature and calmness. We do offer a service for those who don't have a car. In fact, paying a modest amount, four times a day there's a bus which drives our guests from Hotel Montemezzi to Verona, Verona's Airport and Railway Station.
Hope to see you again as our guest!

Best regards,

Andy.

I knew this hotel was not going to be close to Verona when I booked it. I was fine with that and didn't mind the drive to Verona. The staff was really helpful and service at the hotel was really good. We arrived at the hotel around 11:00 a.m., which is earlier than check-in time, and they had a room ready for us. I was very happy about that, so that we could put our luggage in the room and go explore the city. Our room was very spacious and quiet, since we were close to the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was really good and they had a lot of choices. The only downer of my trip to Verona was the parking ticket I got because I didn't see where I had to pay to park. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in telling me how to pay my ticket, since it was in Italian! My advice, make sure to pay attention to where you are parking so you don't get a ticket.

We think that this hotel deserves 4*.
The hotel lies 10 km from Verona (which is OK, we knew that, but we did not knew that it lies in a triangle of 2 busy streets).
We had a triple room. Size of room was OK. Bathroom a bit too small. Door could not open completely because the Bidet was in it's way. ALL walls were dirty. As if the beds would be pushed around constantly or people lie with their shoes in bed against the wall.
In the night it was loud because of the bar which does not belong to the hotel but which is attached to the building. When the bar closes you have the people in the parking creating fights.
If you manage to get sleep then you are either being woken up by the reception at 6.15 a.m. for no reason (we did not asked for a wake up call). At 8.00 a.m. housekeeping rang the doorbell, knocked, yelled and stepped into the room despite the fact you said that someone occupies the room.
The restaurant looks like a company canteen with unfriendly staff.
No manager was available that weekend to take on our complaints.
We will never ever go there again.

We had a quadruple reservation (2 adults and 2 big kids), the room they gave us was very small and had a double bed and 2 very tiny little beds on each side, which was a very disappointing.
Being so far from the city was also disappointing.
Montemezzi is a very average Hotel, friendly staff, clean room...but again little to far from city.

Dear Daniela A
thank you for the review! It is true rooms in italy are a little bit smaller than American ones! Notwithstanding that we put lot of importance to detail, as you experieced in the dishes of our restaurant and in the cleanliness of the rooms or the friendliness of the staff!
The location in a quiet village in the countryside allows you to find peace and relaxation and being at the same time 10 minutes from Verona city centre and Arena! And even in Vigasio there are a lot of hidden beauty to be discovered. Our reception is always available and happy to advise you to visit the area!
We will be happy to welcome you again in our hotel
